United Airlines is reportedly working with the CDC to alert passengers onboard a flight last week from Orlando to Los Angeles they may have been exposed to COVID-19 after a passenger had an inflight medical emergency and later died. A man who tried to help the man is now reporting symptoms.United says a man onboard flight UA591 on December 14 had coronavirus-like symptoms, including loss of taste and smell, according to statements his wife made, before suffering a medical emergency onboard.A nurse and EMT began CPR on the passenger as the flight was diverted to New Orleans to get the man help.When the plane landed, they believed the man’s emergency was cardiac arrest, and they allowed passengers to “take a later flight or continue on with their travel plans,” the airline told NBC News.The airline now says they were contacted by the CDC and “are sharing requested information with the agency so they can work with local health officials to conduct outreach to any customer the CDC believes may be at risk for possible exposure or infection," a representative for the airline told CBS LA.The man who says he performed CPR on the passenger, Tony Aldapa, says he is now experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Aldapa said he used his EMT training to try and help the man."There were three of us that were essentially tag-teaming doing chest compressions, probably about 45 minutes,” Aldapa told CBS LA. 1413

Various sex toys, including a vibrator, were mistaken for a bomb, causing a partial closure at Berlin's Sch?nefeld Airport on Tuesday.Employees at the airport were conducting routine X-rays of luggage when they spotted "suspicious content in a luggage piece," according to the federal police in Berlin.Because it was unclear from the initial scan what the bag contained, an alert was issued shortly before 11 a.m., resulting in the closure of the airport's D terminal while police investigated the suspicious items.The owner of the bag was called over the airport speaker system and eventually talked to police about his luggage.However, he was reluctant to properly explain the contents of the bag -- possibly because of embarrassment, according to a federal police spokesperson -- saying instead that his luggage contained "technical stuff."After an hour-long investigation involving a bomb squad, authorities eventually determined that the items were sex toys.The airport's D terminal was reopened at noon.The incident came on the same day that Frankfurt Airport -- Germany's busiest airport -- was evacuated after a family that tested positive for explosives was mistakenly allowed to leave the security area.The security slip in Frankfurt affected over 7,000 passengers.Both incidents came during the one of the busiest months for travel in Europe, as many people are on vacation.In 2016, the latest year with available data, nearly a quarter of the 1.2 billion pleasure trips taken by Europeans occurred in July and August. 1537

In the same message, Schwindt wrote that she was possibly drugged and assaulted.ABC 10News spoke with Schwindt's friend, Krystle Hudnell. United Airlines is looking to add flights to their schedule in October, including resuming previously canceled trips and adding new ones.According to the airline, this will bring them up to flying 40 percent of their full schedule in October compared to October 2019. In September, they are only expecting to fly 34 percent of their full schedule.The news comes a week after the airline announced it will furlough more than 16,000 employees in October. That’s when federal bailout money from the federal government expires.The resumed flights include eight routes to Hawaii, “pending approval of the state’s pre-arrival COVID testing program.” Hawaii recently extended their out-of-state visitors ban to October 1. Once they allow visitors and tourists again, travelers must fill out a “safe travels” form and go through pandemic screening measures."We continue to be data-driven and realistic in our approach to rebuilding our network," Ankit Gupta, United's vice president of Domestic Network Planning said in a press release. "Because October is typically a slower month for leisure travel, we're adjusting our schedules to reflect these seasonal changes in customer demand while resuming service or adding capacity on routes where we're seeing increased customer demand for travel."Some of those “data-driven” decisions may have led United to realign their schedule to match “current demand for leisure travel.” The airline says in October they will add more flights on days popular with leisure travelers looking for a long weekend getaway, and will schedule fewer flights on days where demand is lower.Other changes and additions in October include:Resuming or starting new service on nearly 50 routes in the US; mostly from United’s hubs in Chicago, Denver and Houston.Resuming additional service to Florida and along the west coast.Resuming service to 14 international destinations, including parts of South America and Mexico.United was one of the airlines last week who announced they will be permanently eliminating change fees on flights within the US.
