And the majority of our clients are Hispanics," said Rosa Lopez, Schuyler restaurant owner.Business owners in Schuyler — with a population that’s nearly 70 percent Hispanic and a business district dominated by Hispanic-owned shops and restaurants — is worried about the repercussions its economy would face if there's no DACA resolution by March."We depend on our youngsters for the future,” resident Irma Cuevas said. “So if that were eliminated, it would completely devastate not only Schuyler, but several other communities.""They're our clients,” Lopez said. “And if they get rid of the program, we would lose them as clients. And they wouldn't be able to contribute to the local economy."Long-time residents, like Luis Lucar, say DACA helps keep — and bring in — more people to the workforce there in Schuyler, which he says used to be a ghost town."If that happened, Schuyler would definitely go back to those years where businesses were closing,” Lucar said. “I don't think we want to see that again. Infrastructure spending going to be a hot topic in the upcoming midterm elections, with many asking, how are we going to pay to fix America’s aging roads?Correspondent Nicole Vowell traveled to Rhode Island, the smallest state with some of the biggest infrastructure problems.The tiny part of New England spans only about 1,500 square miles and is one of the oldest states. Combined with Rhode Island being nearly 33 percent water, the state is fighting a tough battle to keep roads and bridges intact.Casey Dinges, director of the American Society of Civil Engineers, says one in four of their bridges is structurally deficient. That means, he says, safety standards are ramped up."That bridge will be inspected every year, instead of the standard every two years,” explains Dinges of one of the bridges in the area.The Ocean State may be facing the most worries, but Dinges says, overall, the U.S. just isn't that structurally sound.Last year, Rhode Island earned a dismal D+ infrastructure rating."We've been deferring maintenance and under investing in our infrastructure for decades,” Dinges says of the rating.Of the nearly 800 bridges in the state, approximately 200 of them are considered structurally deficient, which is costing taxpayers millions of dollars to fix.Dinges says for every family in the U.S., it amounts to about per day.The overall goal, Didges says, is for federal and local government to get on board and invest over the next 10 years to upgrade America’s infrastructure."The allocations for what the state needs has not been enough,” Dinges says. 1585

In it, the former Subway pitchman – now serving more than 15 years on charges of child porn and sexual conduct with a minor – alleges federal Judge Tanya Walton-Pratt, who sentenced him to prison, two members of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, an Illinois U.S. district court judge and both of his lawyers undertook a “scheme to defraud” Fogle by tricking him into pleading guilty to a false charge.READ | Full?Fogle?plea agreementIn addition to his wrongful imprisonment, Fogle claims he suffered at least million in damages. INDIANAPOLIS -- Ninety minutes after Tonya Holtgrave dropped her dog, Titan, off at Barkefellers on the west side, the doggy daycare called to tell her that Titan appeared to be injured.Holtgrave said they told her that they weren't sure what happened, but she needed to take him to a veterinary hospital immediately."I was just shocked when they called me and said he was hurt, and it's kind of been a shock ever since," she said.According to medical records, Titan fractured his tibia in both legs."They let my dog get hurt," Holtgrave said "That's negligence on their part, not mine."She said the vets told her Titan will need an expensive surgery. She wants the company to help pay for it."I just can't afford that right now, ,000 for surgery," Holtgrave said. "I am already out over ,000 just in all of these vet bills and stuff, and his medicine."Barkefellers said they checked their surveillance cameras and did not see any point where the dog might have gotten injured under their care. Holtgrave said she had Titan's vet call the facility. The manager said they can't pay for anything unless they have proof that Titan was injured on their property."The other vet had already told him it was a traumatic injury, that he didn't walk in there with two broken legs," Holtgrave said.The owners of Barkefellers said they will help pay for the medical bills once they have their own vets review the records and X-rays themselves, and get the proof they need to make sure this injury happened there. 1518
