"China has made great progress, but if you reflect back, the Global Findex showed that we went from the low 60s to about 69 percent of people in the world covered in terms of financial access," Kim said, referring to the finding that 69 percent of adults around the world, or 3.8 billion people, have an account at a bank or mobile money provider, up from 62 percent in 2014.
"China has maintained its growth resilience and gained reform momentum," said John Litwack, World Bank lead economist for China. "The authorities have undertaken a host of policy and regulatory measures aimed at reducing macroeconomic imbalances and limiting financial risks without notable impact on growth," Litwack said, adding that this year has been a "successful" year for the world's second-largest economy "on many fronts".

"By incorporating smart technologies into urban infrastructure, manufacturing and services, we can remotely monitor the health and performance of essential equipment and take action preemptively to avoid service interruptions or shutdowns. Deploying advanced robotics and automation solutions allows us to keep factories and plants operational without exposing humans to health and safety risks," he said.
"China maintains a very small nuclear arsenal, and China follows the policy of self-defense and minimum deterrence," said Fu Ying, a veteran diplomat and now chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature.
"China and India will continue to maintain their dialogue and communication through military and diplomatic channels, including holding a new round of commander-level talks and a meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on China-India Border Affairs," he said.
