SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are investigating Monday a woman's report that she was held against her will in Rancho Pe?asquitos.A woman arrived at a home on Caminito Cuadro at 10:45 a.m. and said she had been kidnapped and held captive in a neighboring house, police said. The location is in a residential area near SR-56 and Carmel Mountain Road.Neighbors told 10News they saw a naked woman covered in a bedsheet leave the home.The woman was taken to a nearby police station for an interview, police said.10News is monitoring developments in this story. 569

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego is making the push for top talent and to dispel any lingering assumptions the region can't compete with larger hubs around the country.The San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Tuesday launched their campaign "San Diego: Life. According to a letter sent to Governor Gavin Newsom, the resignation will be effective close of business day on January 13, 2020. “It has been an honor to serve the people of California’s 50th District, and I greatly appreciate the trust they have put in me over the last 11 years,” Hunter concludes in the letter to Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom says he won't hold a special election to fill the seat. “The Governor’s office received Rep. Hunter’s resignation letter. Based on the timing of the resignation, a special election will not be called," Newsom's office told 10News. Ammar Campa-Najjar, the Democratic challenger for the 50th District seat, said in a statement he is focused on moving forward with the race for the seat."Yesterday, I called on Congressman Hunter to resign immediately, today he finally tendered his resignation. Hunter should've resigned weeks ago, and shouldn't wait until January 13th to resign. What's done is done, now it's time for the constituents of CA-50 to pick up the pieces and move forward together. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Fire-Rescue responded after a man reportedly got his hand stuck in an industrial tortilla press Thursday night.According to the department, the incident happened just after 5:30 at Tortillera La Perla on the 3100 block of National Avenue in San Diego.The man has been carried out of the factory, but a piece of the equipment is reportedly still stuck to the man's hand. His condition is unclear at this time. Also unclear is how the man got his hand stuck in the press. 507

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Museum of Man is changing its name in an effort to be more inclusive.The museum posted on Facebook early Sunday morning that it will now go by the “Museum of Us."“After operating as the San Diego Museum of Man for over 40 years, it is time we step into a new identity that better reflects our values of equity, inclusion, and decolonization,” the post read.RELATED: San Diego's Museum of Man mulls new nameThe museum started its search for a new name in 2018."Our current name served us for 70 years, and now it is time to select a new name that better reflects our values ... better describes all the people we serve and the stories we want to tell and fully embodies our mission of inspiring human connections by exploring the human experience," Shannon Fowler, the museum's director of marketing and communications said at the time.The museum has been a part of Balboa Park since its completion for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition.The facility is currently closed amid the coronavirus pandemic. 1042
