NANJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Saturday that he believes the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games will be a grand, wonderful gathering with Chinese characteristics.
During the period, China provided foreign assistance in forms such as undertaking complete projects, dispatching medical teams and volunteers, offering emergency humanitarian aid, and reducing or exempting the debts of the recipient countries.
In a meeting in July with Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Chinese President Xi Jinping said Greece is a friendly and reliable friend of China in the European Union, and that the two countries have enjoyed deep friendship as they showed mutual understanding and support on matters relating to each other's core interests and major concerns, and help each other in times of difficulty.
"Favorable conditions" means that the two sides are highly complementary in economic development, and are natural cooperative partners which could achieve mutual benefits, common development and prosperity.
It also called for improvements in the budgetary system's transparency and strengthened supervision and auditing to ensure the correct use of public money.
