SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A man was shot and killed in the Midway District Sunday morning, leading to a standoff in North Park, and a suspect is still on the loose, according to police.San Diego Police responded after receiving reports of a shooting behind a 24 Hour Fitness near Kemper Street and Midway Drive around 11 a.m.After arriving, police found a 27-year-old white man dead at the scene. According to officials with the base, the individual is currently in quarantine in accordance with the CDC guidelines at his home. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A parole board Tuesday granted parole to an actor previously convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend nearly two dozen times.Shelley Malil, who had a supporting role in the movie “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” was convicted seven years ago of repeatedly stabbing Kendra Beebe in San Marcos.Beebe spoke to 10News after Malil was granted Parole. “Why are we letting out this person who’s going to go back out and go back on the internet and date and possibly relapse and hurt somebody else.” RELATED: 40-Year-Old Virgin actor deemed suitable for parole, 10 years after brutally stabbing ex-girlfriendAs of this year, Malil had served 9 years of his 12-years-to-life sentence. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A new COVID-19 testing site opened Wednesday morning at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, with tests for the virus available at no cost.The free test site is located at the PedEast crossing of the Port of Entry. It will be open 6:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.About 200 tests will be administered daily, and no appointments will be necessary. San Diego County health officials said those getting tested “will not be asked about their immigration status or who lives with them.”Health officials said the site is focused on “testing essential workers and American citizens who live in Tijuana, as well as residents in the area.”Jennifer Bransford-Koons, the county’s testing director, said it’s possible the hours at the new site could eventually change.“We’re starting out first thing in the morning as people cross the border … to be able to see if that’s a good time to have people to be able to test. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent accused of pointing a gun at a man in East County was charged Tuesday.Investigators said Agent Ed Zuchelli waved the gun at a young man who was riding a dirt bike in Lake Murray on February 16.Zuchelli is also accused of driving drunk. San Diego Police confirm he was in a government-issued vehicle at the time of the arrest.
