EDEN, the Bronx — Police arrested three people Thursday in connection with the shooting death of a dad gunned down as he crossed a Bronx street with his daughter.Davon Delks, 21, Laquan Heyward, 25 and Devon Vines, 27, were all arrested on murder charges.Anthony Robinson, 29, was holding his 6-year-old daughter's hand when he was fatally shot on July 6. Video showed Robinson, hand in hand with his 6-year-old daughter, look to his left at a Bronx intersection and cross when a car paused to let them go. The driver then pulled up and someone in the vehicle opened fire, striking Robinson repeatedly.Robinson collapsed to the ground at East 170th Street and Sheridan Avenue. MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — A Milwaukee County Supervisor has issued an apology after he used a song by rapper Cardi B to promote a weatherization program.Supervisor Ryan Clancy apologized and stated that his Facebook post "landed badly" after he used a photo of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion from the music video for the song"WAP" to promote the Weatherization Assistance Program.According to the Milwaukee County website, the program provides qualified Milwaukee County residents with a one-time annual payment toward heating and electric bills.The song includes the line "there's some wh**es in this house." In text overlaid on the still from the music video, Clancy wrote, "there's some holes in this house," referencing the need to weatherize homes before it gets too cold.Clancy made another connection to the song by abbreviating the Weatherization Assistance Program as "WAP."Following the post from Clancy, the weatherization program asked Clancy to take down his post because it didn't read well to some viewers.Clancy did just that and posted a comment on top of the original post, and deleted the photo.Clancy said he initially used the photo in an effort to "draw attention to both this excellent program and to a song which has at its core a message about empowerment, reclaiming and destigmatization." 1317

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee will soon have one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the nation.Just after midnight Friday morning, state lawmakers passed a fetal heartbeat bill. The law was one that Gov. Bill Lee said was one of his priorities for the current legislative session, adding that he believes that "every human life is precious, and we have a responsibility to protect it."The bill would ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected, typically about six weeks into pregnancy. It's not uncommon for a fetal heartbeat to occur before a woman knows she is pregnant.The bill would also require mothers to get an ultrasound before an abortion and would forbid an abortion when the doctor is aware the decision is motivated by race, sex, health or disability."It does that in a way that we believe is legally defensible," Rep. William Lamberth, R-Portland, said. "Every time we have passed a measure that was in favor of a life in the womb, it has been challenged in the courts. This bill is in such solid legal footing. We feel good about the fact that it could save millions of lives. And those lives are their most vulnerable because they are still in their mother's womb."The passing of the bill shocked Democrats and anti-abortion activists because they had been told for weeks that the Senate would not take up the bill."The fetal heartbeat bill, which is one of the most extreme, anti-choice bills passed in the United States, was used as a trade-off by the House Republicans to get some budget concessions," Rep. Mike Stewart, D-Davidson County said. "I just don't think serious legislation like that should be used as a budget bargaining chip.""Lack of access to abortion care particularly harms those struggling financially and those who already face significant barriers to health care, including people of color, people with limited incomes, rural people, and young people," the American Civil Liberties Union said in a statement. MONTEREY, Calif. (KGTV) - A student was stabbed in the chest by another student Monday at North Monterey County Middle School, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department said.The attack happened in the quad of the Castroville school about 8:30 a.m., just before classes started, investigators said.The victim and the attacker are both 12 years old, said Deputy Joseph Banuelos. One of the boys stabbed the other with a six-inch kitchen knife, according to the deputy.A staff member approached the attacker and distracted him while another staff member came up behind the boy and tackled him.When deputies arrived, they arrested the attacker, who was sitting in the principal’s office.The school was locked down for an hour while a medical helicopter arrived to take the victim to a San Jose trauma center.The victim’s injuries are life threatening, Banuelos said.  880
