SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An evacuee who tested positive for the coronavirus in San Diego was mistakenly released back into quarantine because their test sample was mislabeled.Four evacuees were brought from MCAS Miramar to UC San Diego Medical Center and provided samples for testing within the last week. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A strong series of earthquakes struck Baja California Monday morning, but was felt throughout San Diego, according to United States Geological Survey data.The first tremor,was reported at 8:09 a.m. and was centered in San Vicente, Mexico -- about 93 miles south of San Diego, according to the USGS. The quake registered 4.4-magnitude.The jolt was followed by two more in quick succession at 8:30 a.m. and 8:31 a.m., both registering 5.2- and 5.1-magnitude respectively, USGS reported.No known injuries or damage have been reported.Various people reported feeling the quake all over Southern California, including numerous locations in San Diego, some as far north as Escondido and east in El Centro. 727

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspect who reportedly sexually assaulted a female student at Mesa College has been taken into custody Friday night, according to the San Diego Community College Police.The sexual assault happened around 1:30 p.m. on the grassy area outside the Mesa College LRC.The suspect reportedly walked with the woman before pinning her down in the grass and trying to put his hand down her pants and under her shirt.Police released no further details about the suspect Saturday.  509

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An autopsy report released on Trevor Heitmann, the teenager known as "McSkillet" on YouTube, is revealing details about what happened before he crashed his vehicle on Interstate 805.The report says Heitmann’s parents called the police to request a psychiatric evaluation stating, “On August 23, the decedent's parents contacted the local police department to request a psychiatric evaluation but were informed that the evaluation could not be performed as the decedent had not broken any laws."The statement means hours before Trevor Heitmann drove his car down the freeway killing two people, police were at his house.RELATED: Autopsy details mental state of McSkillet before deadly I-805 crash"Even though police are trained to identify mental health issues and mental illness issues they just can't take someone off the streets unless there is such conduct to warrant it,” said attorney Kenneth Rosenfeld.Rosenfeld, who has no connection to this case, explained law enforcement does have the ability to detain someone using the 51-50 law.
