MEDINA, Ohio — Police believe the potential active shooter situation at Cleveland Clinic-Medina Hospital was a hoax. The all-clear was given around 3:30 p.m.Medina police chief Edward Kinney said they got a call at 1:30 p.m. that there was a woman with a gun in a medical building next to the hospital. Police secured the hospital and searched the facility floor-by-floor. Kinney said they believe it was a hoax and they are trying to find the person responsible. Many schools across the country have put brand new cleaning and disinfecting procedures in place to welcome students back during the coronavirus pandemic. With Election Day, some schools prepared to welcome a new group of people: voters."We are the third district in the state of Kentucky. We are 15 minutes outside of Cincinnati so we are the southern suburb of Cincinnati, so we have 25 schools in Northern Kentucky in this district which, for 7 of them, almost one-third are being used as polling places," said Barbara Brady with Boone County Schools.Boone County Schools prepped four high schools, two middle schools and one elementary school so voters could cast their ballots. MIAMI (AP) — A 2-year-old girl is recovering after falling from a fourth-floor window of a Miami apartment. Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll told WPLG that a palm tree under the window helped slow the speed of the child's fall early Monday. She landed in some bushes. She was being cuddled by her uncle and was crying when rescue crews arrived at the scene. The girl was then taken to a hospital for treatment. Miami Police Cmdr. Freddie Cruz told the TV station that detectives were trying to determine what led to the fall and whether the girl's parents bear any responsibility.No additional details were immediately available. 645

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A billboard calling for justice in the Breonna Taylor case was vandalized with red paint in Louisville..The public discovered the vandalism to the sign near the city’s Irish Hill neighborhood Tuesday morning, WLKY and WAVE report.However, by Tuesday afternoon, both TV stations say the paint had either been removed from the billboard or it had been replaced.The billboard is one of several erected in the Kentucky city by Oprah Winfrey and her magazine, which featured Taylor on its September issue. She was the first person other than Oprah herself to grace the cover.The signs feature a photo of the 26-year-old woman who was shot and killed by police in her home in March. They also have a call to action – “Demand that the police involved in killing Breonna Taylor be arrested and charged” – and encourage people to visit the website for Until Freedom, a social justice organization created to address systemic and racial injustice.Taylor died on March 13 after three Louisville police officers executing a search warrant used a battering ram to enter her home. The emergency room technician and her boyfriend were in bed. After a brief exchange, Taylor’s boyfriend reportedly fired his gun and then police fired shots, striking Taylor at least eight times. She died in the apartment hallway.Since Taylor’s death, protests have been held across the country, demanding that the officers involved be charged in her killing. Many celebrities other than Oprah have also used their platforms to call for action.For now, the shooting is under investigation by the FBI and Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Southwest is also keep the middle seat on flights blocked through at least September.American Airlines said last week that its air filtration system allows for those on board flights to breathe without fear of infection.“Over the past several years, American has been further improving our HEPA filters by adding a layer of activated carbon to our filters to provide additional removal of fumes, odors and volatile organic compounds,” said Ben Thiesse, American’s Senior Engineer for the Airbus A320 Family. “Today, these carbon HEPA filters are installed on all of American’s A320 and 787 aircraft.”United Airlines says, like other airlines, it is relying upon travelers to wear face masks to keep other travelers safe."Every reputable heath institution says wearing a mask is one of the most effective things people can do to protect others from contracting COVID-19, especially in places like an aircraft where social distancing is a challenge," said United's Chief Customer Officer, Toby Enqvist.
