PARIS, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- World Bank's vice president and special envoy for climate change Rachel Kyte said Wednesday that China has set a "good example" in the integration of climate change control and national economic and social development.
The conference, which is the first of its kind, was attended by representatives of 12 Chinese newspapers, news agencies, radio and others, while more than 30 representatives of Arab media institutions in addition to the Arab League who have contributed in the proceeding of the conference.
The Chinese government has decided to pledge 50 million RMB (7.53 million U.S. dollars) to help improve the lives of the Palestinians and 230 million RMB (about 35 million dollars) for Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya and Yemen as humanitarian assistance, said Xi.
"The donation demonstrates again the good friendship of the two countries and sincere attitude of the Chinese government to resolve the mine issue in Cambodia," he said.
Sticking to the 1992 Consensus and opposing "Taiwan independence" is an important prerequisite and political basis for peaceful development of cross-Strait relations, Wang said.
