Federal law enforcement officials say Rippy threatened members of the Ohio State football team during the 2018 game against Michigan.According to the DOJ, Rippy directed death threats toward Ohio State players and then head coach Urban Meyer through Facebook. When he failed to appear, he was arrested again and US Marshals extradited him to Ohio to face charges.“In the middle of Ohio State’s annual rival game with the University of Michigan and with more than 100,000 fans in the stadium, law enforcement suddenly had a potential threat of a shooting,” said U.S. Attorney David M. DeVillers. “Because of Rippy, law enforcement officials at the stadium were placed on high alert and re-allocated resources to investigate the threat. INDIANAPOLIS -- A man's quick reaction spared him from serious injury or even death after a chunk of concrete was thrown from an overpass on I-465 and shattered his windshield.Alan Cox was driving his Honda SUV on I-465 northbound Wednesday afternoon. He said he saw three men on the overpass as he approached the Pendleton Pike exit. Cox said he could tell they were up to no good, especially when he noticed one throwing something into moving traffic and in his direction."I knew he was going to throw something so I veered to the left a little. He nailed me. If I veered over to the left -- dead center to the chest," Cox said.A chunk of concrete hit Cox's windshield on passenger side and left the interior of his SUV covered in glass"People get killed. AAA says that airfare is down 7 percent from Memorial Day Weekend of 2017 for the top domestic routes. Rental car rates are also 11 percent lower this year. AAA affiliated hotels are also showing upwards of a 14 percent savings from last year. Overall, 41.5 million Americans are expected to travel this Memorial Day Weekend, which is up nearly 5 percent.
