BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore Police are investigating the shooting of a 5-year-old girl on the 1000 block of McKean Street in West Baltimore on Monday evening.According to an official with the mayor's office, the 5-year-old girl is the younger sister of 7-year-old Taylor Hayes who was shot in the backseat of a car in July and was pronounced dead two weeks later.Officers were called to an area hospital for a report of the 5-year-old walk-in shooting victim who was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her groin.Investigators say that residents in the area of the 1000 block of McKean Street heard several gunshots when someone looked outside and saw the girl laying on the sidewalk suffering from her gunshot wound.A person then picked up the girl from the sidewalk and drove her to an area hospital.The young girl was immediately rushed into surgery and is expected to survive.Officials believe that the girl was caught in the middle of a shootout involving suspects in an unknown car and suspects on foot. 1077

BELTRAMI COUNTY, Minn. – A man who was hunting in northwest Minnesota was shot and killed by another hunter last week.The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Lukas R. Dudley was shot by 33-year-old Rain Stately last Wednesday and it appeared to be an accident.The men were reportedly not hunting together.Around Dusk, Stately told authorities that he saw movement of what he thought was a deer and then fired one round from his rifle.“When he discovered Dudley, he immediately called 911 and is cooperating with the investigation,” the sheriff’s office said.The sheriff’s office says Dudley was not wearing the typical blaze orange or other high-visibility clothing.Dudley was transported to a medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. Officials haven’t said where the bullet struck him or at what range.The incident is being investigated by the sheriff’s office, Red Lake Tribal Police Department, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Division of Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. 1027

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced on Tuesday an indictment against a Baltimore Police Officer seen punching a man in a viral video. The video was posted over the weekend and quickly spread around social media. It shows an officer, Arthur Williams, and a man yelling at each other, and then you see the officer punching the man. Williams is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and misconduct in office. The other officer seen in the video is not being charged. Mosby says her office has considered evidence that was public and transparent, but also other evidence as well.
