School also won't be canceled for any other kind of inclement weather. Now, one lawmaker is fighting to make it illegal to report people simply based on race.It seems there’s a new viral incident, almost weekly. In April, a white Starbucks manager called police on two black males, who were waiting for their friend inside the Philadelphia store. The following month, a woman, dubbed BBQ Becky by the internet, called police on black men who were grilling in a park in Oakland, Calf. Then, there’s Permit Patty, who called to report a young black girl selling water without a permit on a San Francisco sidewalk.New York State Sen. Jesse Hamilton (D) proposed new legislation that would make calling police on law-abiding people of color a hate crime.  “We have to draw a line in the sand,” says Sen. Hamilton. “This is a phenomenon that's happening all throughout the country, where people are using the police as private security, to interrogate, to intimidate, to harass and humiliate.”Sen. Hamilton says it has even happened to him. He says a woman called police while he was campaigning in his own district, and all because she didn’t like his message.“I’m saying, no, that shouldn’t happen. No one should be interrogated or humiliated because of their color of their skin, political beliefs, sex orientation,” says Sen. (AP) — Authorities say a woman plunged to her death down a Northern California waterfall after she slipped and lost her footing while taking photos.The North Tahoe Fire Protection District said in a statement that the woman died Friday at Eagle Falls in Emerald Bay State Park.The approximately 50-foot-tall (15-meter) falls overlook Lake Tahoe.The district says called her death "a sad reminder to be cautious when taking selfies and other photos in dangerous areas."The woman was not identified. 530

Southwest Airlines said Thursday that a fatal accident on one of its planes has scared some people away from booking flights on the airline.It reported seeing a "recent softness in bookings following the Flight 1380 accident." And it said that that weakness in bookings will result in slightly lower fare revenue in the second quarter as it tries to keep its planes full.A passenger died last week when a fan blade broke off the engine of a Boeing 737 and shrapnel shattered a window next to her. Another is an apartment he owns in Trump Tower in New York, which is at risk of foreclosure, the prosecutors said.The prosecutors also noted that Manafort has "questioned his ability to maintain the payments on all his mortgages" and that members of his family aren't "willing to assume the risk" of helping him.Manafort earned a judge's approval to be released from house arrest two months ago, if he showed proper documentation and could secure a million bail with assets and properties.
