SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police and Crime Stoppers released photos Wednesday in the search for the burglars responsible for taking half a million dollars’ worth of items during break-in at the Fashion Valley Hermes de Paris store.Up to 10 people got out of three vehicles at the north end of the mall about 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, January 18. Surveillance video shows the group approaching the store and using a pry bar to open the front door.The group stole purses, jewelry and clothing worth 0,000 in just two minutes.RELATED: San Diego mall burglars steal from HermesPolice said the group wore hooded sweatshirts and gloves. The vehicles used for the heist were a white Chevy Suburban and two blue sedans with paper license plates.Investigators conducting follow-ups uncovered new surveillance photos of people they believe to be responsible for the crime.The pictures show three men inside a market. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego City Attorney Mara W. Elliott has heard complaints from neighbors and has filed a civil enforcement action to shut down a short-term vacation rental property in La Jolla that has been dubbed a "COVID party mansion."The complaint alleges that defendants are maintaining a public nuisance and engaging in unfair competition, including false advertising at the La Jolla Farms rental property located at 9660 Black Gold Rd. According to city officials, the rental property continues to operate in violation of state and county COVID-19 public health orders.According to a press release, Elliott is seeking civil penalties and a permanent injunction against property owners Mousa Hussain Mushkor and Zahra Ali Kasim, property manager Nital Meshkoor, and Steven S. Barbarich, who leased the property from Mushkor and subleased it as a short-term rental.City officials said the oceanfront mansion has been the subject of at least 30 calls to the San Diego Police Department. Officers have spent more than 173 hours at the property to investigate nuisance activity. Most of the incidents involved raucous parties, some of which had up to 300 attendees.Elliott said about a dozen of the party complaints came during the COVID-19 pandemic, while public health orders prohibited large gatherings.According to the press release, concerns about the property were brought to the City Attorney’s Office by San Diego police and by neighbors who reported that the situation was "becoming more pronounced as the COVID-19 pandemic progressed." “Shutting down dangerous party houses protects the public health by preventing COVID super-spreader events and other illegal behavior,” Elliott said. “It’s unfortunate that San Diego does not have short term rental regulations in place. Relief for this neighborhood would have come much sooner. Instead we must rely on time-intensive prosecutions at significant taxpayer expense.”According to the press release, gunfire was reported to police during a party in May of 2019. Officers arrived and found a large party in progress. Partygoers questioned by police admitted gunshots were fired during a fight that had occurred earlier. Police found shell casings outside the property and a neighbor found an additional casing the next day and turned it over to police. The City Attorney's Office assembled evidence from investigations by SDPD, the Code Enforcement Division of the City’s Development Services Department, the County Health & Human Services Department, and the City Fire Marshal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diegans spend years saving up enough cash for a down payment on a home, but now the FBI says fraudsters are getting much better at stealing it.Hackers are getting into the emails of private real estate agents and escrow companies - duping would-be buyers into wiring their down payment cash to false accounts. They're also getting tipped off by celebratory Facebook photos about accepted offers, using clues like listing agent signs to get in touch with the buyers and pretend to be escrow companies - asking for payment. In all, the FBI says Americans lost nearly billion in real estate wire fraud in fiscal 2017, up 50 fold from fiscal 2016. San Diego special agent Chris Christopherson says the FBI can reverse wire transfers if contacted quickly after they happen. He said internationally they have a day or two, and domestic about a week. He said San Diegans can protect themselves by verifying payment information they get by email either in person or by phone with a trusted source. "Make sure you're not using a phone number you got from the email, be skeptical, verify it separately," he said. The FBI said another way to help protect yourself is to never to reply to emails that ask for financial information. Instead, forward them to the recipient you know, typing in their address. San Diego realtor Gary Kent was selling a duplex last year when hackers got the buyer to wire a ,000 down payment to a fraudulent account. They mimicked an email pretending to be from the escrow company."The buyer went down to the bank, said 'I need to wire the money,' and they said, this wasn't the same account number you did before," Kent said. Kent noted that the bank was able to reverse the transfer. 1804

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego police are investigating how a teenager ended up unconscious near a Walgreens store in Chollas View after her mother reported the girl had been kidnapped.The 13-year-old girl's mother called police shortly after 4 p.m. Monday and said her daughter was supposed to be at a friend’s house, but she later learned her daughter somehow ended up with a man she didn’t know.It is unclear how the woman determined her daughter was with the man.About 20 minutes later, police found the teen unconscious but breathing in the 600 block of Euclid Avenue. She was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown.Police said they are looking for the man that was believed with the teen. He is described as Hispanic, in his early 20s, with long hair. He was wearing reading glasses, a white T-shirt and possibly a black baseball cap. 860

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Residents in one San Diego neighborhood have grown increasingly worried over reports of large boulders being left in the streets - in some cases, on top of vehicles.Golden Hill residents have reported the boulders appearing at 19th and Broadway, 26th and Broadway, Date Street, and the Golden Pacific Complex.At times, some of the boulders have been covered with cardboard or blankets."It's way too easy, with the way they're positioned, for someone to jump in their car like they do every day and take off and end up running over a giant boulder," said Benn Bruff.Bruff says a 25-pound boulder was placed in the wheel well of his girlfriend's car. Luckily they spotted it before she drove away. San Diego Police tell 10News the issue is very concerning. They are looking for more information and any description of the person responsible. Police says the person could face vandalism charges or obstruction of a roadway. If a driver were to hit a boulder and get in a serious accident the charges could be more severe. 10News reporter Amanda Brandeis spoke with a resident who knows the damage the rocks can cause first hand on 10News at 6 p.m.Councilman Chris Ward's office issued a statement to 10News, saying they are in contact with San Diego Police Department regarding the issue:"We were made aware of this issue by constituents over the weekend and share the concern for the safety of residents and car owners being impacted by this.
