WASHINGTON — The Senate intelligence committee has concluded the Kremlin launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the 2016 presidential contest on behalf of Donald Trump and says the Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the campaign posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat. It says Trump associates were eager to exploit the Kremlin’s aid, particularly by maximizing the impact of the disclosure of Democratic emails that were hacked by Russian military intelligence officers.The report from the Republican-led panel lays out significant contacts between Trump associates and Russians, describing for instance a close professional relationship between Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Konstantin Kilimnik, whom the committee describes without equivocation as a Russian intelligence officer."The Committee found that Manafort's presence on the Campaign and proximity to Trump created opportunities for Russian intelligence services to exert influence over, and acquire confidential information on, the Trump campaign," according to the report released Tuesday.The report notes how Manafort shared internal Trump campaign polling data with Kilimnik and says there is “some evidence” that Kilimnik may have been connected to the Kremlin’s operation to hack and leak Democratic emails, though it does not describe that evidence. In addition, the report says that “two pieces of information” raise the possibility of Manafort’s potential connection to those operations, but what follows next in the document is blacked out.Both men were charged in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, but neither was accused of any tie to the hacking.The report purposely does not come to a final conclusion about whether there is enough evidence that Trump’s campaign coordinated or colluded with Russia to sway the election to him and away from Democrat Hillary Clinton. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Several North County residents want their money back from a failed Tiny Home community.  Vista resident Greg Dutton said he and a handful of others simply want their ,000 investments back from Janet Ashforth, the brains behind Habitats Tiny Homes, which was planned for a plot of land between Escondido and Poway.“Sounded like a great idea,” said Dutton.  “A whole bunch of tiny homes.  Community garden.  Community clubhouse.”His excitement turned to frustration when he didn’t like the property Ashforth secured.“Really hard to get to.  Hardly any access roads,” he said.Dutton said Ashforth promised to refund his money if he didn’t like the property. However, Dutton requested the refund after Ashforth went into escrow for the property. He showed an email apparently from Ashforth saying he was too late to ask for the refund but she’d return the money anyway.Dutton still hasn’t received his refund. He and several other investors have filed claims at the Courthouse in Vista.10News spoke with Ashforth by phone. She said the project failed “when 30 people didn’t follow through and now they’re expecting their money back.”  She explained none of her investors ordered their tiny homes or took the next steps to keep the project alive.She argued, “The receipt clearly says you can get your deposit back until we open escrow on the property.”  Ashforth said Dutton requested after escrow opened.“I apologize,” she continued. “However, you should take responsibility for the receipt. I don’t have the money to give back because it was invested in the 0,000 property we’re now trying to sell.”Ashforth said she’ll gladly appear in court but admits the money is wrapped up in an empty plot of land. 1826

VISTA, CA (KGTV) — The man accused of intentionally driving a U-Haul van into a crowd of people outside of an Encinitas bar, pleaded not guilty to serious charges in a Vista courtroom Wednesday.Christian Davis, 28, stood next to an attorney with his head down as he was formally charged with two counts of attempted premeditated murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of felony driving under the influence of alcohol.Deputy District Attorney, Kim Coulter, said the incident early Sunday morning started at the Saloon and Shelter bar when Davis was kicked out.RELATED: Video shows driver slamming into crowd outside Encinitas bar"He was asked to leave because he was highly intoxicated and it was time for him to go," said Coulter.Once he was kicked out, Coulter said he got into a verbal argument with two bouncers, then threatened them."It escalated and culminated with Davis telling the security guards 'you're going to regret doing this, I’m going to come back and I’m going to kill you,'" she said.Moments later, witnesses saw the U-Haul heading for a crowd of people standing outside of the bars.RELATED: Man arrested after driving into crowd outside Encinitas barThe incident was captured on a passerby's dash cam video."He reversed out of a 7-Eleven and he came barreling down a sidewalk in front of Shelter bar, right into a crowd of people," said Coulter. Sadly, two men who were outside of the bar at the wrong time were seriously hurt."A 25-year-old victim has had a severe injury to his leg, he’s had his third surgery today," said Coulter.The other victim, a 24-year-old, was also left hospitalized with severe injuries."He has two collapsed lungs, fractured ribs, a broken arm and he did spend time in the ICU," she said.Bail was set at million.
