SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Vandals damaged a park in Sabre Springs Thursday night, dumping sand into toilets and scrawling inappropriate graffiti on the walls. Trash cans were emptied out and piles of wood chips were dumped along the entrance to the South Creek Neighborhood Park. The clogged toilets and sinks caused minor flooding in the bathrooms. Some of the plumbing was also damaged, according to the San Diego Police Department. City crews cleaned up the mess by the afternoon. Police were still searching for the culprits Friday. 537
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Uber announced Wednesday that the ride sharing company has chosen San Diego to be part of the new Uber Rewards program.The program lets users earn points every time they use Uber or Uber Eats, and the loyalty program has four membership levels: Blue, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.Once customers sign up, they’ll begin to earn points. Users will earn one point for every eligible dollar spent on UberPool and Uber Eats, two points for UberX, UberXL, Select and WAV and three points for Black and Black SUV.Once you earn 500 points within six months, you’ll advance from Blue to Gold. At 2,500 points you’ll advance to Platinum. And at 7,500 points, you’ll advance to Diamond.According to Uber, customers will get added to their Uber Cash balance for every 500 points earned to use on rides and Uber Eats.Other benefits for higher membership levels include flexible cancellations, price protection, priority pickups and upgrades.Other cities included in the rollout of the program include Miami, New Jersey, Denver, Tampa, New York, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Atlanta. 1103

Service to accommodate riders to the Holiday Bowl Parade and game are also being offered.With the additional services, some modified schedules will be in place:New Year's Eve (Dec. 31): All trolley lines and most MTS bus routes will operate on normal weekday schedule.Holiday Bowl Parade: Extra Green Line Trolley service between Mission Valley and downtown will begin at 9 a.m. and will continue after the parade. Best access to the parade route are via Sycuan Green Line and UC San Diego Blue Line, MTS says.Holiday Bowl game: Service on Sycuan Green Line will run every 15 minutes throughout the day. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Traveler satisfaction stagnated year-over-year as airports struggle to keep customers happy, according to J.D. Power. According to the report, construction projects and passenger volumes are at least partly responsible for the trend. San Diego International ranked 13th out of 27 in the large airport category, with a score of 774 out of 1,000. To reach the conclusion, the report looked at six factors: Terminal facilities; airport accessibility; baggage claim; security check; check-in/baggage check and food, beverage and retail. “With major terminal construction projects now underway in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta and many other airports, it is becoming impossible for travelers not to experience some form of disruption,” said Michael Taylor, Travel Intelligence Lead at J.D. Power. “While these projects are absolutely necessary to address surging demand, they are currently causing passenger delays and confusion. This translates into a rushed passenger experience and less money spent on food, beverage and retail—and it’s slowing the progress of the airport satisfaction we’ve seen in the past several years.”Meanwhile J.D. Power says the experience of getting through security at the airport has improved by five points. The study is based on responses from more than 32,000 U.S. or Canadian residents who traveled through at least one U.S. or Canadian airport that covers both departure and arrival experiences over the last three months.
