BEIJING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- China hopes Japan will play a positive role in developing bilateral ties by properly dealing with sensitive issues, State Councilor Yang Jiechi said Tuesday.
Trade between Yiwu and Afghanistan amounted to 20.2 million U.S. dollars in 2015, representing year-on-year growth of 2,284.5 percent. The total import-export volume reached 18.3 million U.S. dollars during the first half of this year, up by 4,683 percent compared with the same period last year, according to the local bureau of commerce.
"The arbitral tribunal in fact expanded its power into areas outside of its jurisdiction," added the diplomat.
Saleumxay said this year is of great importance in the history of bilateral relations as it marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Laos and China.
The DOC, signed in 2002 by China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states, including the Philippines, stipulates that the parties concerned undertake to resolve their territorial and jurisdictional disputes by peaceful means, through friendly consultations and negotiations by sovereign states directly concerned.
