Dr. Deborah Birx, a key member of the White House’s coronavirus task force, sent a sharply-worded memo to the administration over her concerns about the rise in coronavirus cases, the New York Times and Washington Post reported on Monday.The memo comes as confirmed coronavirus cases are at record levels in the US. Cases in recent weeks have risen sharply, and a rise in hospitalizations have corresponded in recent days. Investigators said a newer silver four-door sedan ran down the unidentified victim in the intersection of East Chase and Lincoln Ave. about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6. A witness started CPR on the 58-year-old man but he died of his injuries after he was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Over two dozen people were displaced Sunday night after a fire ripped through an apartment building on Bradley Avenue in El Cajon. The fire started on the first floor of the building, inside of a unit that was being renovated. Witnesses told 10News they heard a commotion and people screaming there was a fire. Several neighbors say they stepped in to help using buckets of water to put out the flames. Firefighters say the fire appeared to have started inside the walls of the apartment with a plumbers torch that was being used during the renovation. Fire officials say the fire damaged four of the units, displacing 21 adults and 12 children. The Red Cross is providing shelter for the night for those displaced. One of the men working inside the apartment suffered a minor burn on his left hand but told 10News he was okay. 864

EL CAJON (KGTV) -- Investigators are gathering clues to determine what caused a deadly single-car crash along a major roadway in El Cajon early Friday morning.The crash was reported at around 2:20 a.m. Friday by witnesses traveling to nearby pharmacy on Fletcher Parkway near Navajo Road. The witnesses, a woman and her young daughter, called 9-1-1 after discovering a wrecked white SUV fully engulfed in flames. According to El Cajon Police, the driver was heading westbound on Fletcher Parkway when they stuck a tree. The SUV immediately caught fire.The woman and other good Samaritans tried to pull the driver out of the burning vehicle.Crews arrived and also tried to rescue the trapped motorist but the victim died in the blaze.No information about the victim has been released at this time.Both directions of Fletcher Parkway near Navajo Road were closed as of 6 a.m. while officials continue their investigation. 928
