LeBron James already runs the NBA from a player's perspective, but now people want him to run the country's education system as well. An online petition is asking for signatures to get James considered to take over the Secretary of Education position from Betsy DeVos.The petition says they want James to step in as he has shown his desire to help at-risk children after opening his "I Promise" school in Akron, Ohio late last month which will give education to those children who would not otherwise be able to receive it. It also gives all those who graduate from the school free tuition to Akron University. James recently spoke to CNN's Don Lemon to discuss the new school as well as President Trump to elected DeVos to her position. Trump then went on to tweet about the interview, calling into question James' intelligence. The tweet led to a firestorm of responses calling into question Trump's intelligence as well as the Secretary of Education's. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers responded to the president's tweet by saying he, and many other athletes across different sports, support James and what he has done in the community, not just the NBA. The petition is looking for 12,000 signatures and currently has over 11,750.  1289

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Kentucky man is accused of using other people's identities to buy luxury cars and lease apartments in Kentucky and Florida.39-year-old Kenneth Mobley was arrested earlier this month as part of investigations by Lexington Police and the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Investigations Unit.Five cars valued at around 5,000 were recovered as part of these investigations.Lexington police say back in March, detectives learned Mobley used an Oregon man's identity and a fraudulent check to buy a BMW convertible from a Kentucky car dealership and rent an apartment. Mobley was arrested later that month in Tampa, Florida.In early September, police say detectives learned Mobley was possibly back in Kentucky. Evidence ultimately linked to him was found at multiple police scenes in Lexington, including the collision of a Dodge Charger Hellcat that was left abandoned on Chestnut Street. 912

Last fall, Amazon launched a new service called Amazon Key, which allows customers to receive deliveries inside their home. Amazon is now taking that one step further and delivering packages inside your car.Alyssa Bronikowski with Amazon says, “What’s convenient about it is that you can now receive deliveries wherever you are.”Amazon says it’s simple to use. You need to download the Amazon Key app, and link your car before you begin shopping.There is one catch: You will need a 2015 or newer GM or Volvo vehicle with active OnStar or Volvo On Call account.These vehicles allow you to unlock your car wherever you are right before the driver arrives and lock it directly after the package is delivered.With the first version of Amazon Key, Amazon tried to eliminate porch poaching. But, this has many people wondering if the new version will cause more vehicle break-ins. LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- La Mesa businesses that were damaged or looted during protests that turned violent in late May can receive financial assistance through a special fund.According to the East County Economic Development Council, the La Mesa Disaster Recovery Fund “was created by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce Foundation to help businesses damaged or destroyed in the aftermath of opportunistic violence and looting following peaceful Black Lives Matter demonstrations in La Mesa.”The fund raised ,000 on its first day, and then 0,000 by the second day. The fund has now reached nearly 0,000.Fund organizers said they want to be “fast, fair, and equitable” with the distribution of money to the affected businesses.A flat stipend amount will be distributed to each verified business starting the week of June 29. Three-quarters of the money will be distributed during this Phase 1.The remaining 25 percent will be distributed during Phase 2 (no exact date given), with the intention of closing the fund by the end of July.To be eligible to receive funding, businesses are being asked to upload photos of damage and include verification of the address and ownership through an online form.
