Xi flew to Washington D.C. Thursday to continue his U.S. visit.
To well implement the post-2015 development agenda, Xi put forward a four-point proposal for the international community: building up the development capacities; improving the international environment for development; updating the partnership for development; and strengthening the coordination mechanisms for development.
He has also repeatedly urged the two sides to honor their commitment to actively interact in the Asia-Pacific region, encourage inclusive diplomacy, and jointly play a constructive role to bolster regional peace, stability and prosperity.
It is a reciprocal visit following Xi's state visit to the Netherlands in March 2014.
Niinisto said in his message that areas of cooperation have expanded since China and Finland established diplomatic ties.
