(KGTV) -- Foot Locker is helping voters get a leg up this election year.The athletic retailer is partnering with the nonprofit Rock the Vote to turn all of its U.S. stores into temporary voter registration sites.Beginning Sept. 22, Foot Locker will have registration kiosks with a website where visitors can check their voter status, register to vote or sign up for election reminders.The company has more than 2,000 stores in the U.S., including seven locations in San Diego County.Foot Locker says the initiative is targeted at the more than 4 million young Americans eligible to vote this year. CEO Richard Johnson said the goal is to “educate and amplify the voices of today's youth.”Kids Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Footaction will also house kiosks. 785

(KGTV) — A California Highway Patrol officer found himself in the right place at just the right time this week on a Northern California freeway.CHP officer Jeffrey Lloyd was completing a traffic stop on State Route 99 Monday when an SUV pulled up behind him. A woman in the right passenger seat was going into labor and about to give birth, according to CHP'S South Sacramento office.Officer Lloyd informed dispatch of the situation and gatherer medical equipment to help deliver the baby right there on the freeway. RELATED: San Diego welcomes first baby of 2019 in Chula VistaAs soon as he made it back to the vehicle, he began comforting the mother and helped deliver the newborn girl, CHP says."He carefully unwrapped the umbilical cord from the baby’s head and made sure both mother and baby were stable," according to South Sacramento CHP. "Officer Lloyd notified dispatch of the birth and stayed with the mother and baby until medical personal from the Sacramento City Fire Department arrived on scene."The mother and newborn were transported to a nearby hospital and were said to be in excellent health and resting Tuesday. 1139

(KGTV) -- A new report sheds light on some of the most dangerous intersections for pedestrians in North County and what can be done to prevent injuries and fatalities at the intersections. According to Circulate San Diego, 1,992 people were injured, and 101 people were killed in 2018 while walking and biking on roads throughout San Diego County. While the report paints a grim picture of the problem, it also includes solutions. Some strategies to prevent crashes include reducing speed limits, redesigning streets to make them more accessible, raising awareness and enhancing data-driven traffic enforcement. Cities included in the report include Carlsbad, Del Mar, Oceanside, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Poway, Escondido, Vista and San Marcos. (KGTV) - Two NFL billionaires are reportedly at odds over -- what else -- money.According to a report, Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke is upset about a lack of financial contribution by the Los Angeles Chargers for their shared Inglewood stadium, which is set to open next summer. Longtime Los Angeles sportscaster Fred Roggin said Kroenke was anticipating the Chargers would generate close to 0 million from the sale of Personal Seat Licenses (PSLs). Instead, the real figure is turning out to be tens or even hundreds of millions short of the target, and Kroenke is the one responsible for making up the difference.Costs for the Inglewood stadium, which will be called SoFi Stadium after a sponsorship deal was announced earlier this month, are skyrocketing to almost billion. The facility was initially expected to cost .9 billion. Kroenke is responsible for everything but the money the Chargers generate in PSL sales and a 0 million NFL G-6 loan. The Chargers, though, get to keep all of their gameday revenues when they play in the new building. Roggin calls it a sweetheart deal for Chargers owner Dean Spanos.
