DETROIT — Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan was packed with people for Michelle Obama’s book tour Tuesday night.Although, before she hit the big stage, the former first lady made a visit to the famous Motown Museum, where a group of college students were surprised when she walked through the door.The group of teenagers, ages 18 and younger, all attend Wayne State University. They were at a forum to discuss various topics such as education, culture issues, goals and overcoming obstacles.The event moderator was actor, comedian and Detroit-native Keegan-Michael Key. Also in attendance for the talk was Craig Robinson, vice president of Player Development & G League for the New York Knicks.Robinson also happens to be Obama’s brother. Obama walked in for the big moment, while the gentlemen’s conversation was in full swing. Take a look at the above video to see their reactions.  944

DETROIT — Kia is recalling nearly 295,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the engines can stall or catch fire. The recall comes a week after Kia and affiliated Korean automaker Hyundai were fined by the U.S. government for allegedly delaying recalls. The recall covers certain 2012 and 2013 Sorento SUVs, 2012 through 2015 Forte and Forte Koup cars, and 2011 through 2013 Optima Hybrid cars. Also included are 2014 and 2015 Soul SUVs and 2012 Sportage SUVs. Kia says in documents posted Saturday by the U.S. government that no manufacturing defect has been found, but it’s recalling the vehicles to mitigate any risk of fire. Kia will notify owners starting Jan. 27. 671

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden says he and President Donald Trump “shouldn’t have a debate” as long as the president remains positive for the coronavirus.Biden said Tuesday that he’s “looking forward to being able to debate him” but said “we’re going to have to follow very strict guidelines.” He says he doesn’t know Trump’s status since the president returned to the White House after being hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for three days after a COVID-19 diagnosis.“I’m not sure what President Trump is all about now," Biden said. "I don’t know what his status is. (KGTV) — A three-year-old horse died after it broke down during training and had to be euthanized at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday.The horse, named Koa, broke down during training, according to the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club (DMTC) confirmed. The extent of the horse's injury was unclear.Koa is the ninth horse to die while racing or training at Del Mar this year. RELATED: Horse injured at Del Mar euthanized following complicationsTwo days into Del Mar's summer season, two horses — two-year-old Charge A Bunch and three-year-old Carson Valley — collided head-on during training, killing both animals. Carson Valley's jockey, Assael Espinoza, suffered an injury to his back and was hospitalized.A third horse, Bowl of Soul, was euthanized less than two weeks after due to a fetlock joint injury. Bri Bri, an unraced three-year-old filly, was euthanized in August after suffering a serious injury during training.In November, two horses — three-year-olds Ghost Street and Prayer Warrior — died after serious injuries in separate races.
