NEW YORK CITY — Protests erupted in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn’s for a second night Wednesday over New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's new restrictions on schools, businesses and houses of worship in the New York City "cluster zones" that are seeing an uptick in coronavirus cases. Some residents in those "cluster zones" have said the state is unfairly targeting Orthodox Jewish communities as it tries to stamp out hot spots before they spread.Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio have insisted the new restrictions are based solely on science and data around coronavirus-case clusters.Demonstrations turned violent Wednesday night when a journalist was allegedly attacked by a group of protesters he said surrounded him and kicked and hit him.Jacob Kornbluh, who identified himself as a reporter for jewishinsider.com, said hundreds of community members attacked him, calling him a "nazi" and "Hitler." 928

NEW YORK (AP) — A presidential campaign that was already tugging at the nation’s most searing divides has been jolted by the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It represents a seismic shift in a race that had been defined by a pandemic, economic uncertainty and civil unrest. Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill began sparring almost immediately over when to replace the former justice. But the political shockwaves were only just beginning to ripple across battleground states, where high-stakes Senate races were suddenly supercharged and presidential operations were forced to rethink their messaging just over six weeks until Election Day — and with early voting already underway in five states. 730

New York City police officers shot and killed a black man Wednesday after he pointed what they believed was a gun at them, authorities said. After the shooting, officers discovered the man was holding "a pipe with some sort of knob on it," Chief of Department Terence A. Monahan said at a news conference. The incident started shortly before 5 p.m., when officers received 911 calls of a man aiming what callers described as a silver firearm at people in Brooklyn, Monahan said."Three different 911 callers described a man with a gun, pointing it at people on the streets," he said. 588

Next week will be the most-traveled in the history of flying, travel analysts are predicting.Records will be set, those in the travel industry say. There will be huge crowds moving through airports to visit family and friends for Thanksgiving. It won't be easy for air travelers, especially on Wednesday, Nov. 21, ValuePenguin reports. Most travelers know to get to airports well ahead of their departure times. But seriously, go early — it will be the busiest day of the year for airports, and the extra time is crucial to making it to a terminal on time. 583
