Companies everywhere are hopping on the bandwagon to eliminate plastic straws, as plastic becomes harder and harder to recycle.An Oregon man, who started his glass straw business over a decade ago, is finally seeing his business take off.“We’re still doing the same thing we’ve been doing for over 12 years,” says Craig Graffius.But when Graffius started making straws out of glass to cut down on plastic, he was on to something.“A sustainable product is so much better than a throw away product,” says Graffius. “By far.”And this June, it seems a lot more people agreed with him.“500% percent, 600 percent growth overnight,” Graffius says.Suddenly, Graffius found he couldn’t keep up with the demand. (KGTV) - Its been almost six months since a drunk driver destroyed an iconic flower shop, the Coronado Flower Lady.Shanel Albert had only taken over as owner a year before the accident happened. She's continued to operate despite many challenges along the way.The business took a financial hit, forced to sell their van and take out a loan.But from the wreckage came kindness and love from the community.Shanel's husband Steve worked tirelessly to build a new flower shop.His friends at WeldTec Designs let him use their shop and tools, all while helping him along the way. (KGTV) — Village Elementary is working to notify anyone who may have had contact with a staff member who tested positive for the coronavirus.In a letter to parents on Sunday, principal Heidi Bergener wrote that the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency confirmed that a staff member had contracted COVID-19 and that the county is in the process of investigating and monitoring the individual.Anyone who has come into contact with the staff member will be notified by the Coronado Unified School District nurse with instructions to self-quarantine, Bergener's letter said."Due to what we know at this time about how COVID-19 spreads, public health officials have indicated that all of us should consider ourselves as being potentially exposed," Bergener said in the letter.The name of the staff member was not provided due to privacy laws.Anyone with questions was asked to call the District Nurse at 619-972-8528. 950

CYPRESS, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man was tackled in the middle of a Southern California Target store for reportedly taking pictures up women's skirts.According to Cypress Police, officers were notified that the man, later identified as Jorge Ibarra, 29, was taking pictures targeting women wearing skirts.The suspect then fled from the scene after being tackled to the ground by one of the women’s father.
