The billboard is used by Battlefield Vegas, which advertises that it is the best indoor shooting range experience in Las Vegas. The sign was also changed to say "DEFEND LIVES REFORM LAWS."INDECLINE says they did it because of “America’s longstanding obsession with gun culture and out government’s inability to honor the victims of mass shootings by distancing themselves from the homicidal policies of the NRA.”INDECLINE says it is "calling on all political parties to immediately work towards a legislative resolution that aims to protect citizens and reform inadequate gun las that are currently placing value on assault weapons over that of human life.”This isn’t the first time that INDECLINE has vandalized a billboard or did something controversial in Las Vegas and other cities around the U.S.INDECLINE was also behind the naked Donald Trump statues in 2016 that popped up in many cities, including Las Vegas, New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. In addition, the group vandalized a billboard that was promoting a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor. They also hung mannequins in suits on billboards with the caption “Dying For Work.” The message on the billboard was covered up before 9 a.m. Thursday. Anita Hall, along with the Hollywood Commission, will launch a new anonymous reporting platform next year to hold serial harassers in the movie industry accountable.Hill, who made history in October 1991 when she testified before Congress about the alleged sexual harassment she experienced when she was an aide by then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.Twenty-nine years later, Hill is still finding ways to address the abuse and harassment women still face today.The Hollywood Commission, founded by entertainment lawyer Nina Shaw and Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy and Hill chairs, recently spearheaded a survey that found survivors want to track harassment and abuse in the workplace.According to the survey, 93% of the 9,630 anonymous current and former workers in Hollywood said they wanted "technology for victims to create a time-stamped record" that would track harassment and abuse in the workplace.After its findings, the commission announced in September that by the first quarter of 2021, they would launch a cross-industry anonymous reporting platform that would help identify abusers.The platform would also allow users to ask questions or raise concerns through a two-way anonymous messaging system."For too long in Hollywood, there have been 'open secrets' about the harassment perpetrated on workers by powerful people who are able to successfully evade accountability for their actions," said Hill in the press release. "With this survey, we have identified the most vulnerable workers in Hollywood and the resources and systems that will provide support and a safety net for them. Our expectation is that these tools will be the foundation to build a new era of transparency and accountability for all workers in the entertainment industry."According to the press release, the commission will also train 450 entertainment workers through a bystander intervention training program to teach them how to intervene if they see abuse happening. 2016

An Uber driver pulled a knife on his passengers on Sunday morning after one of them said his vehicle smelled like smoke, according to police.Two passengers were getting out of an Uber in Lakewood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, around 12:38 a.m. when a female passenger slammed the door and the driver made a comment to the female passenger.The female passenger said his vehicle smelled like smoke and she shut the door again. According to police, the driver exited the vehicle with a knife and yelled at a male passenger.According to the police report, words and physical slaps were exchanged between the two men. The driver threatened to get a gun, which prompted the man and woman to go into a house.The driver left the area. When police arrived, they took the knife that was found at the scene. The victims did not want to prosecute the driver at the time of the incident. 907

An undocumented immigrant was shot and killed Wednesday by a US Customs and Border Protection officer in Rio Bravo, Texas, according to a CBP news release.A Border Patrol agent responded to a report of illegal activity near a culvert and discovered a group of undocumented immigrants, the agency said.The agent tried to apprehend the group but he came under attack by multiple people using blunt objects. The agent fired at least one round, fatally wounding one person, CBP said.The names of the agent and the dead person have not been released, but a bystander video posted on Facebook said the latter was a woman.In the video, a woman yells at an officer: "Why are you mistreating them? Now, locally there's a very simple idea to help make the schools safer.A fire hose is a strong, simple life saving tool. After years of high pressure use it’s retired. But now old hose has a new way to save lives. A small slice of that tough tubing can prevent a shooter from getting into a classroom.Grant Reed of Rural Metro Fire Department showed how to apply the piece of fire hose to a typical door closer, common in many schools."We're gonna slide it right over here, right over this hydraulic arm. The goal is to keep this where it cannot open anymore so it's pretty simple to go on. Just attach it. Once it's slid over the arms makes it a lot more difficult for this door to open." Rural Metro says the sleeves were first used in Kansas. Many schools are beginning to use them.Rural Metro is sharing these security sleeves with the Tanque Verde School District and other districts Rural Metro serves. The Pima County Sheriff's Department was happy to see schools have another way to buy time while deputies rush to take down a shooter.
