BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao is to meet his U.S. counterpart President Barack Obama Tuesday morning at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.     The summit meeting is scheduled to be held at 10:40 a.m. after a grand welcoming ceremony. The two leaders will meet the press after the talks.     Wu Bangguo, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, will meet President Obama Tuesday afternoon.     President Obama will also visit the Palace Museum, or the Forbidden City, and attend a state banquet in his honor hosted by President Hu.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The military-to-military ties between the United States and China have a vital role to play in the development of an active, cooperative and comprehensive bilateral relationship, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told retired generals from both countries here on Thursday.     In a meeting with participants of an exchange forum between retired generals of the two countries, Clinton said President Barack Obama attaches great importance to the growth of interactions between the two militaries. Exchanges between retired generals of the two militaries, Clinton said, could play an important role in facilitating a healthy development of military-to-military relationship between the United States and China.     Kurt Campbell, assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, said at a separate meeting with the retired generals that the Obama administration fully supports exchanges of this kind and hopes that such interactions could continue on a regular basis.     Through in-depth and extensive dialogues of this kind, Campbell said, the two militaries could increase mutual understanding and trust and promote growth of constructive cooperation between the two sides.     Xiong Guangkai, former vice-chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, is heading the Chinese delegation.

PHNOM PENH, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- China will make joint efforts with Cambodia to achieve a win-win cooperation, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping said Monday.     "Furthering relations with Cambodia has long been China's consistent policy," Xi told Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen during talks. BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's discipline watchdog Wednesday opened a national informant website, to deal with the public's reports on discipline violation problems of the Party organizations and its members, and to collect suggestions for the Party's anti-corruption work.     The informant website, www. 12388. gov. cn, was launched by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the Ministry of Supervision.     Citizens in China's 31 provinces and autonomous regions can all send their complains through the website, which has 31 portals for citizens from different places sending their appeals.     Each computer is required to send three letters each day in order to prevent repeated appeals.     The discipline watchdogs are also planning to establish informant website in city and county levels, in order to build a nationwide reporting system.     Since 2005, local supervision and discipline departments began to set up informant website one after another, which had accepted a large number of public complaints, helped relevant departments uncover valuable clues and also played an important role in combating corruption.     However, these websites did not work well because of its non-standard domain name and inadequate working system.     On June 26 last year, Supervision Ministry opened an informant hotline "12388" for people to report discipline offences of civil servants and officials.
