Along with the ornaments and strands of lights, two police officers in the 4th precinct of Minneapolis' Police Department added some unusual items to their lobby's Christmas tree: A collection of street trash, including packs of Newport cigarettes, a crumpled bag of Takis chips, a cup from a Popeyes fried chicken outlet, a can of Steel Reserve malt liquor and some yellow crime scene tape. Critics say the items chosen play on negative stereotypes about African-Americans."These pieces of trash were deliberately chosen to represent how certain officers feel about the community they serve: that Black people are a stereotype to be mocked and the lives of those they serve may as well be reduced to trash in the gutter," City Councilman Phillipe Cunningham said on Facebook. The department has since placed the officers on leave and has launched an internal investigation amid an outcry that the decorations mocked the precinct's predominantly black neighborhoods. The precinct commander also was demoted, according to the Star-Tribune.Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called the tree "racist" and "despicable." On Friday, he vowed the officers responsible would be fired."Shifting the culture of the police department requires swift and decisive action," he said. After an evening of cocktails in San Diego, a woman got into the back of an Uber for a ride home. She was so intoxicated she had to ask the driver to stop so she could vomit. She says she then passed out in the backseat.When she regained consciousness, the Uber driver was on top of her, raping her, a block from her home, according to the police report and two sources familiar with the investigation.She was able to escape and dial 911.Police later arrested the Uber driver, John David Sanchez, 54. When they searched his computer, they found videos of Sanchez raping women and abusing young teenagers, dating back at least five years. 645

A pharmaceutical that has already issued a recall for dozens of children's medications is expanding its recall to include more than a thousand additional medications for both humans and animals.The FDA reported earlier this month that King Bio had issued a voluntary recall for about 30 children's medications for a possible microbial contamination. Now, the company is expanding the recall to include more than 1,200 medications for adults, as well as medicine used by vets and pet owners.According to the FDA, King Bio still has not yet received any reports of illness from contaminated medicine. According to the FDA, the use of the drugs could potentially result in increased infections.Customers currently in possession of affected product should discontinue its use immediately and contact King Bio by email or call the company at 866-298-2740. The company also says it is notifying distributors and customers by letter.Below is a list of the contaminated medications. After President Donald Trump announced early Friday morning that he tested positive for COVID-19, many are wondering what happens if a president becomes incapacitated.White House Physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memo that the president and First Lady Melania Trump "are both well at this time," but did not say whether they were experiencing symptoms of the virus.Trump, who is 74 years old, meets several categories that science found makes COVID-19 symptoms worse — his age, his gender, and his weight. The president is technically obese through his body-mass index.The 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which was adopted on Feb. 10, 1967, deals with the issues of presidential succession and who runs the country if the president is incapacitated.Section 3 of the 25th Amendment allows the president to submit, in writing, that he is not able to discharge the powers of the office. In that case, the president will voluntarily transfer the authority to the vice president, but the VP does not become president and the president remains in office.Section 3 was invoked under President Ronald Reagan when he underwent a colonoscopy, and twice under President George W. Bush when he underwent colonoscopies.In the case of Trump, he could voluntarily transfer power to Vice President Mike Pence if he believes it is necessary.Section 4 also gives the president's Cabinet the ability to strip him of power if the Cabinet believes he has become incapacitated. This Section has not been invoked.
