Delta Air Lines will not be opening up their middle seats on its planes anytime soon.On Thursday, the airline company updated its coronavirus safety policy and announced they would be closing off the middle seats through Jan. 6, which is considered a busy period for them because of the holiday season.For travel through Oct. 31, Delta said it would limit the number of customers on board all aircraft, limit the First Class cabin to half capacity, and block one aisle of seats on a plane without middle seats.USA Today reported that the company would cap capacity at 75% percent in the main cabin through Oct. 31. DETROIT - "She was loved," said Jessica Williams-Stough about her 36-year-old daughter, Kelly Stough, who was murdered Friday morning near East McNichols and Brush in Detroit. "She had a lot of people who loved her. (KGTV) - A trio of teenage girls is helping the Community Resource Center fill their "Holiday Baskets" this year.The girls, Lucie Babcock, Talia Buzi and Abbie Raysman, donated hundreds of dollars' worth of toys, food and household items to the CRC's yearly campaign."It's just a great feeling to know you're givine and helping people have an amazing holiday season," Lucie says.The three girls held a bake sale earlier this month to raise money. They sold muffins, cookies, brownies, coffee and orange juice in their Carmel Valley neighborhood."It was so much fun," says Abbie. "Lucie's brother was dancing in the middle of the street with a sign, stopping traffic."The bake sale raised around 0, which the girls used on a shopping spree for the donations.The CRC Holiday Baskets program helps 1,600 needy families in the North County. It gives them toys, clothes, food and more for the Christmas season. Organizers say they're impressed with the young girls' desire to give, and that it's small donations like these that help them serve so many people.Lucie started donating to Holiday Baskets when she was 9 years old. Over the years, her bake sale grew to the point where she needed help. Her friends Talia and Abbie were happy to lend a hand."I think it's a really great organization," says Talia of the CRC. "This is a great way to help people who are less fortunate."Lucie says it's all about making sure other kids get the same feeling of joy she does during the holidays."That's what I try to think about, that a kid who's not expecting anything can wake up and have something like this. DEL MAR (KGTV) - The Annual Pacific Classic Party celebrated heroes in the horse community who risked their lives to rescue thoroughbreds during the Lilac Fire."I want everybody who was at San Luis Ray that day to understand they were all heroes," Horse Trainer and Owner Kimberly Marrs said. She's owned horses as long as she can remember, and loves them with all her heart.Friday night, a jazz-infused, Hor d'oeuvres laden party at L'Auberge, the honorees transported attendees to smoke and flame-filled, frantic memories."His pen was on fire because he was in sawdust, literally drug him out of the pen," Marrs said, adding that on that day she lept inside and dragged the horse out, leading him and others along the way to the infield with another worker. They were almost to the end of the tunnel when, "next thing we're facing is a 50-head herd of horses, coming straight at us. So all we could do is basically plaster ourselves against the wall and close our eyes and pray we didn't get hit because if we got hit, we would've been knocked down and trampled to death."She made it unscathed and headed back for her barn where she knew another horse was waiting. When she returned, she faced devastation."I'm still looking for a hose to try and put him out, like I can save him. I tried to get in my barn, but it was so hot, I was stepping over flames," she said. Marrs knew he was already dead. She described it as a horrible, guilt-filled moment. For months, she the memoriy stayed with her.Friday night, that memory was brought into the light, by the horse community. They honored hers and so many others' stories of sacrifice.Noting Martine Bellocq in particular. Bellocq suffered burns to more than 60 percent of her body trying to rescue horses from the Lilac Fire. Saturday, after the third race, Bellocq will be honored for her role in rescuing the horses. 1961
