A Highlands County, Florida resident has died from rabies after being bitten by a bat, the Florida Department of Health has confirmed.The DOH says that the disease was likely transmitted when the individual was bitten by the bat. They say that the individual did not seek treatment at that time and did not receive rabies post-exposure prophylaxis. The individual passed away from the rabies infection.DOH says that it is important to avoid direct contact with wildlife. If you believe you may have been exposed to rabies, including any physical contact with a bat, contact your health care provider and your county health department right away.If an exposure occurred, it is important to administer treatment in a timely manner. After initially being deadlocked on a vote to certify election results, The Wayne County Board of Canvassers voted unanimously to certify election results Tuesday evening. The motion to hold another vote came following hours of public comments condemning Republican canvassers' decisions to vote against the certification.The board of canvassers vote initially tied 2 to 2 along party lines. But just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the board filed a motion and voted to certify the results under the stipulation that Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson does a comprehensive audit of the election in the county.President Trump also tweeting praise to canvassers who initially blocked the certification, saying "Wow! Michigan just refused to certify the election results! Having courage is a beautiful thing. The USA stands proud!"There has been a whirlwind of unproven allegations of fraud and a string of lawsuits since the election two weeks ago. The canvassers' initial vote came after many Detroit precincts were found to be out of balance.That means the number of votes are not in line with the number of voters. However, the variance is said to be small with no evidence of fraud or systemic failure. 1206

Amazon's cashier-free grocery store of the future is coming to San Francisco and Chicago.The company is expanding its experimental Amazon Go store to the two US cities, but did not say when they would open. It has posted job listings for store managers in the cities on its own site, which were first noticed by the Seattle Times.Amazon confirmed its plans for the two cities in a statement to CNNMoney. Earlier reports from Curbed and the San Francisco Chronicle found clues that Amazon was eying retail space in the two cities.Currently there is only one Amazon Go store: a small space located in the base of one of its Seattle skyscrapers that opened to the public in January.The store uses a collection of cameras and sensors to constantly track customers and inventory as they move around. Shoppers need to open the Amazon Go app to enter, and any products they take from the store are automatically charged to their account when they leave.There are no cashiers but there are plenty of human employees restocking shelves, checking ID for wines, and working security.Amazon is already in the grocery business. In addition to its own selection of food available for purchase online and the Amazon Fresh grocery delivery service, Amazon owns Whole Foods. It bought the upscale chain in June 2017 for .7 billion.While the Amazon Go store in Seattle doesn't bear Whole Foods' branding, it does stock plenty of the store's signature 365 brand products.  1469

After a few weeks away, "Saturday Night Live" returned to take some shots at Fox News and President Trump.The NBC variety series kicked off with a cold open of Leslie Jones as Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner reporting alerts like just the word "Mexicans" and if former President Obama could be impeached. It then went to a joint press conference with Alec Baldwin's President Trump and leaders from the Baltic states."Let's make this quick," Baldwin's Trump said. "I have a lot of trade war to escalate here, OK? That's why I just announced tariffs on more Chinese products like fireworks and finger traps."The fake president also said that he expelled the "infamous Chinese billionaire P.F. A white man who allegedly killed two people at a Kroger grocery store in Kentucky tried to enter a predominantly black church nearby minutes before the fatal shooting, police said.The two people killed Wednesday -- Maurice Stallard and Vickie Jones -- were shot in the grocery store and the parking lot, respectively. CNN affiliate WDRB described both victims as black.Police arrested suspect Gregory A. Bush, 51, shortly after the shooting, which happened in the Louisville suburb of Jeffersontown.  513
