SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 44-year-old man suffered a serious cut on his hand early Monday morning when he was attacked by a woman with a knife after parking his car in the City Heights area, police said.It happened shortly before 12:10 a.m. in the 4900 block of University Avenue, east of Euclid Avenue, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.A 44-year-old man had just parked his car on University Avenue when a woman in her 20s walked up to him and said he owed her some money, Buttle said.The woman then tried to stab him in the neck, but he raised his hand and she cut the webbing of his hand, slashing an artery, the officer said.The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injury, which was not believed to be life-threatening, Buttle said.The suspect was last seen walking southbound on 50th Street from University Avenue. SAN DEIGO (KGTV)-- Millions of students from around the world skipped class and took to the streets to call attention to climate change. San Diego was one of more than 3,600 locations that held the global Climate Change Walkout. Hundreds of teenagers marched from San Diego High School in Downtown to the San Diego Civic Center, hoping to make an impact, three days before the United Nations Climate Change Summit. It's a fight against time. Time, they say, the planet does not have. "Climate change is the existential threat of our generation," Elea Castiglione said. The sophomore at San Deigo High School organized the walkout with her friends. She and hundreds of students hoped their actions would inspire world leaders to take aggressive steps to combat climate change. Point Loma High School senior, Kisi Apaak performed her spoken-word piece, "Madness," at the San Diego Civic Center rally. Being 17, she said she does not have an income, nor does she have the right to vote. She said spoken-word is her way to show Mother Nature that she cares."This is all I know how to do, is write and talk and get out and take action," Apaak said. Many said they were inspired by Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish climate change activist, who has now become the face of the movement. SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Marine Corps says one of its fighter jets collided in mid-air with another plane during a refueling operation in a remote desert area of Southern California.The pilot ejected and the other aircraft landed safely.Authorities say the F-35B jet collided with a Lockheed Martin KC-130J tanker around 4 p.m. Tuesday. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 28-year-old man was behind bars Friday on suspicion of stabbing his girlfriend multiple times inside a Colina Del Sol apartment, police said.Dispatchers received multiple calls shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday from neighbors who reported hearing screaming coming from one of the apartments in a complex on 49th Street just south of El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said.Officers responding to the scene found that a woman had been stabbed multiple times and the suspect had fled, Martinez said.The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was taken to a hospital for treatment of her wounds, which were not believed to be life- threatening, the officer said.Around 10:35 p.m. Thursday, the suspect apparently called 911 and told a dispatcher his location, and that he was going to surrender, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.The 28-year-old man, whose name was not immediately available, was taken into custody around 10:45 p.m. on El Cajon Boulevard near El Cerrito Drive, Martinez said. 1053

There is, however, a key difference - the direct payments to Americans are cut in half. Unemployed San Diegans will get an additional 0 on their weekly payments starting the week of Dec. 26, lasting through March 14. The prior stimulus bill added 0 per check. Plus, San Diegans who earned up to ,000 in 2019 will get 0 in direct stimulus payments, down from the ,200 in the first bill. "I think it's got to be more," said Alan Gin, economist at the University of San Diego. "This is a really serious situation, businesses are going out of business, and they need a lot more help than what's being provided in this package."But others say they are ready for any help.
