BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- A current roadmap for China-Africa cooperation in the new era is one eagerly awaited outcome of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which will begin on Sept 3.

China has funded over 40 projects in Botswana, ranging from refurbishing railways and constructing houses to building primary schools. Chinese medical teams have treated more than 2 million people in the African country over the past decades.

During the same period, the occupancy rates of international hotels, chain hotels and boutique homestays in Lhasa and Nyingchi both exceeded 80 percent, much higher than in normal years.

Xi made the statement at a national education conference Monday, which marks the 34th Teachers' Day in China. He extended congratulations and greetings to teachers and other education workers nationwide on behalf of the CPC Central Committee.

"For three years, cooperation between China and Africa has deepened and political mutual trust promoted," said Li Dan. "It is expected that the Beijing summit will offer a more comprehensive plan that reflects the new situation."
