Lorenzo Liberti is a teenage flag maker."The day that I stop working is a day that a hero could be forgotten," says the 15-year-old from Lakewood Ranch.Using pinewood and prodigious talent, Lorenzo works day and night in his garage hand-carving Heroic Flags, gorgeous, time-consuming tributes to American heroes he sells and donates to help people in need."As long as you're living, you're here for a purpose," he says.Lorenzo has only been creating the flags for the past eight months or so. He's made about 50 so far and raised thousands of dollars for children with special needs, homeless veterans, and Bradenton's Turning Points nonprofit."This is bigger than me," he says.The pandemic has inspired Lorenzo's newest mission: honoring medical workers across the country.He's raising money to try and get one of his flags in a hospital in every state: 50 flags, all across America. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Dodger World Series celebrations devolved into looting and vandalism, leading to 18 arrests and left three Los Angeles police officers with minor injuries, authorities said Wednesday.The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department arrested 10 suspects, including eight in the East Los Angeles area for failing to obey a dispersal order. No major property damage occurred in its patrol areas.Meanwhile, the LAPD arrested eight people, and three officers suffered minor injuries in doing so.Around 1 a.m., the department declared an unlawful assembly in an area roughly bounded by Eighth Street and Pico Boulevard from Broadway to Figueroa Street.Celebrations of the Dodgers' first championship since 1988 erupted across the city Tuesday night, but things got unruly in downtown Los Angeles, where crowds looted a tractor-trailer and some retail outlets, while throwing objects at officers and vandalizing a police vehicle."We are still dealing with a large, and at times unruly, crowd in the Downtown L.A. area," the LAPD tweeted just after midnight. Fans in vehicles in downtown Los Angeles and Pacoima did doughnuts in some intersections, causing smoke from the tires to fill the streets.Video from CBS2 showed a driver doing doughnuts as fans tossed fireworks into the intersection. The vehicle ran over the fireworks, at least one of which ignited the rear passenger side tire, lighting up the vehicle's undercarriage as fans yelled to alert the driver of the flames shooting from the rear of the vehicle.There was also a celebration outside Dodger Stadium while fireworks erupted in Echo Park near the stadium.Streets in the area were closed to traffic, with police helping drivers get out of the area after the game.Crowds could be heard screaming and cheering as motorists honked their horns. LONDON – A recording has reportedly emerged of Tom Cruise laying into the crew of “Mission: Impossible 7” over people not following COVID-19 protocols.The Sun, a British tabloid, was the first to report on the incident, releasing audio of the confrontation on Tuesday. The New York Times and Variety have since confirmed the authenticity of the clip.Cruise apparently became angry when he saw two crew members standing too close together at a computer screen, violating a rule that says people must stand six feet to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.In the profanity-laden audio, the actor can be heard saying, “We are creating thousands of jobs, you mother****ers. I don’t ever want to see it again.”Cruise goes on to say that if he sees anyone on the crew breaking protocol again, they’ll be fired.In his rant, Cruise also said they want the film’s production to be “the gold standard” and that other movies are being made in Hollywood because of them.“We are creating thousands of jobs you mother****ers,” Cruise reportedly said.The Sun did not say when the audio was recorded, but Reuters reports that the filmmakers arrived in London earlier this month.The film, which Cruise is starring in and co-producing, is scheduled to be released next fall. 1265
