SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- After shutting down six months ago amid the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the city of Anaheim is calling on California Gov. Gavin Newsom to reopen Disneyland Resort theme parks.According to the Voice of Orange County website, Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu said the city is looking at a 0 million budget deficit. Sidhu added that half of the city's general fund budget comes from Disneyland's revenue and the Anaheim Convention Center.The city is now asking Newsom to issue COVID-related health guidelines for theme parks.USA Today reported park officials believe theme parks have been left waiting on the sidelines while other parts of the state economy have reopened. Anaheim is currently in Stage 2 of its reopening plan, which excludes theme parks.Both Disneyland and Universal Studios in Southern California shut their doors to the public in mid-March after Newsom's order to suspend large gatherings.California theme park officials say they've had time to work on reopening plans that would allow them to safely welcome guests. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An El Cajon woman watched in disbelief Sunday night as her Amazon package was stolen by the very people who delivered it. Cheryl Cook broke her ankle over the weekend and ordered a large ice pack off Amazon. She chose same-day delivery so that she could start icing her ankle as soon as possible.Cook was able to track the driver’s location and could see when he had arrived at her home. She says the delivery started off strangely when the driver put the package on the front lawn rather than the porch. He then got back in the car, put his flashers on, and drove a few feet up the street. Moments later, a second person got out of the car and stole the package. “I’m injured, I’m home, I can’t get out my own front door, and then my package is stolen by the guy who dropped it off,” said Cook. She shared the video online and heard similar stories. “I wanted people to know what was going on, there might be other people that have lost packages and wondered where they went, and this was very clear-cut; it went right back in the guy’s car.”In a statement to 10News, Amazon said:“This does not reflect the high standards we have for delivery partners. This individual is no longer delivering Amazon packages, and we have reached out to the customer to make things right.”A spokesperson went on to tell 10News that their Amazon Flex delivery partners are thoroughly vetted through a comprehensive, multi-state criminal background check and a review of their motor vehicle records. They say the person who stole Cook’s package passed their background check and delivered Amazon packages for less than a month. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A vandal targeted at least a dozen vehicles at a popular shopping center in University City on Friday, flattening tires across one of the parking lots."It's very upsetting," said Camille Bsaibes.Bsaibes showed 10news a Toyota RAV4 with a flat tire. The vehicle belongs to his son. Bsaibes, who owns Amardeen restaurant, located in the Renaissance Towne Centre, experienced his own flat tire Friday while driving his van. Bsaibes didn't notice it until he was one the road."When I was driving, I was shaking ... wondering why it was shaking," said Bsaibes.Bsaibes pulled over and found three of his tires flat. His total bill to replace tires? Nearly 0. That day, three of his employees also felt their tires go flat as they were driving home from work. They were all parked in the same back lot. It was a similar story for four employees of the L-Transformation beauty boutique. In all, at least 12 vehicles from 4 of the businesses were hit in one day. It happened in broad daylight at the busy shopping center, sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m."The tire shop said somebody used a long, sharp object and punctured the side of the wheel," said Bsaibes.The flat tires weren't immediately obvious and didn't become a problem until the vehicle were on the road. Many working at the shopping center wonder if that was on purpose. Was the vandal hoping to cause havoc on the roads? "I'm glad everyone is safe. It could have been worse. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman suffered serious injuries from a hit-and-run crash Saturday while walking in the East Village, San Diego Police said.The 47-year-old woman was dragging her wheelchair across F St. at Park Blvd. at 3:55 a.m. when she was struck by a gray or silver Honda heading west.The car was last seen going north on 11th Ave., police said.The victim suffered two broken legs and a pelvic fracture.San Diego Police Traffic Division officers are investigating the case. 494

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A shopping trip in City Heights ended with a flurry of anti-gay slurs and a road rage assault.On Tuesday afternoon, Marco Aguirre spent an hour shopping, before heading back to his truck, parked in the 3700 block on University Avenue."I back out and lightly bump the car behind me," said Aguirre, 49.Aguirre says he saw two men emerge from an older-model, red sedan. Aguirre apologized, offering to show his insurance, but the men were agitated."The driver came on my side and the passenger came on the other side. Both of them were screaming," said Aguirre.With his cellphone, Aguirre, who is openly gay, capturing the profanities, including a string of anti-gay slurs. Aguirre was frozen. "I feel terrible. Panicked," said Aguirre.He says the slurs continued for about 15 minutes, before he decided to get out of the car to assess the damage."I see no damage to my truck and no damage to their vehicle," said Aguirre. Aguirre says when he stepped onto the sidewalk, he was attacked."One of the guys grabbed my phone and smashed it into the sidewalk. The same guy punched me in the face, under my left eye," said Aguirre. Aguirre says the two men got in the car and took off, leaving him with swelling under his left eye. The incident also left him determined to find the two men."It's not right. I need to take a stand.
