CHANDLER, Az. -- The Chandler Police Department in Arizona says it may file charges against Lori Daybell in connection to the death of her late husband, Charles Vallow, but that the decision to ultimately charge her will come from the prosecutor's office.Lori has since remarried and said in a court hearing that she prefers to be referred to by her new last name, Lori Daybell.In a statement, a spokesperson for the Chandler Police Department said "if and when" charges are sent over to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, they will include conspiracy to commit murder."Ultimately, whatever charge is sent over to the prosecuting agency by the Chandler Police Department, it is at the decision of the prosecutor," the police agency said in its statement.Charles Vallow was killed last summer in Chandler.In January of 2019, he made a call to Gilbert police asking them to conduct a welfare check at their home because he hadn't heard from his children, JJ and Tylee, in the two days prior. He also told police that Lori had been acting strange. "She’s psychologically gone, something has happened to her," he told authorities.Six months later, in July 2019, Charles was killed. Lori's brother, Alex Cox, admitted to shooting Charles but claimed it was in self-defense. Cox died in December of natural causes, according to a medical examiner's report.Chandler police said Lori has always been a "person of interest" in her late husband's death, but it is clear she did not shoot him. They said if charges are filed it would likely happen in 4-6 months. An exact date has not been determined, police said.Chandler police added that detectives still have search warrants and subpoenas out on the case and are going through over "10,000 pieces of digital data."Charles and Lori's children, JJ and Tylee, were reported missing for about six months until June of 2020 when their remains were found buried in the backyard of Lori's current husband, Chad Daybell's home in Idaho.Both have been arrested and are facing various charges.A criminal complaint alleges that Daybell concealed the remains between Sept. 22, 2019, and June 9, 2020. Rexburg police in Idaho began the search for the children in November 2019.He is currently in jail awaiting trial on several criminal charges, including destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. He has pleaded not guilty.Vallow is being held at a jail in Madison County, Idaho and is also charged with misdemeanor resisting or obstructing officers, criminal solicitation to commit a crime and contempt of court. He rents the space and his home next door from the same property management company. But this fall, when he called to ask about his lease, he instead got a 60-day notice to vacate."It was complete and utter shock because there was not even a hint of anything wrong going on," Christopher said.He acknowledges the owner has the right to end the lease, but 60 days to move his home and his business is overwhelming. When he asked the owner for an extension, he got an even surprising response."The property manager rep said do not contact him again, if you do, we consider it harassment and we'll give you a 3-day notice. But it's not personal, it's just business," Christopher says.Christopher started a GoFundMe to help with legal fees and is asking his customers to contact the city for help. He's hopeful he can still write a happy ending to this chapter of his life."We're not being unreasonable," Christopher said. CARLSBAD (KGTV) — A woman visiting Legoland in Carlsbad was stunned when she spotted someone angling their phone into her changing stall at the water park. "I saw a phone at the corner, which is under the divider of the stalls. So I called out to that person, 'Excuse me, what's that phone doing there?'" Carisma Jucaban recalled.She thought it may have been a child or just an accident, but it was not."As soon as I heard the door open, I ran out to take a look, but he was already making a turn. And I was kind of standing there like, 'What just happened?' My husband is looking at me like, What's going on?' I was like, 'Did you see that guy?'" Jucaban explained.Jucaban immediately reported the man to Legoland security and within hours they found him. Carlsbad police arrested 26-year-old Anthony Galindo of Los Angeles. "They looked through his phone and found a bunch of disturbing — they didn't really specify what it was — I don't really want to know. And from there, the police arrested him," she said.Legoland released a statement that reads in part: "Park staff acted promptly as the safety and security of park guests is the number one priority. (KGTV) - After hundreds of signs and fences along the trails at the Carlsbad Ecological Reserve are ripped from the ground, Fish and Wildlife is now setting up a specialized enforcement team. Secret cameras set up around the 500 acre reserve caught dozens of bikers ripping up signs, cutting fence wire and vandalizing property.Fish and Wildlife representative Peter Tira told 10News this is nothing new."We're not dealing with recreational mountain bikers, we're dealing with folks who disregard the law and believe the law doesn't apply to them," said Tira.Starting Saturday, April 6, Fish and Wildlife enforcement officers will hand out citations to all bikers who are caught riding the trails. Each citation comes with a 0 fine. "We've installed about 500 signs on this property almost all of which have been taken down or vandalized. On each of the signs it says 'No Bicycles'," said Tira.However, many mountain bikers who showed up to the trails Wednesday told 10News this is a popular spot for many in the Carlsbad area. Ivan Sekanovich comes to ride these trails at least once a week and is disappointed that Fish and Wildlife are letting the actions of a small group of bikers ruin it for the rest of them."For the most part, people know where they're supposed to hike and the bikers know where to bike," Sekanovich said. 1358

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio – A sheriff in southwestern Ohio issued a warning Wednesday to those who may wish to harm the officers in his department.Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones wrote in a press release that “lawlessness” directed towards law enforcement won’t be tolerated in his community north of Cincinnati.“You shoot at the police expect us to shoot back,” wrote Jones. “I will not allow my deputies or any law enforcement officer in Butler County to take the abuse I have seen over the past several months. If you come to this county expecting a free pass to harm one of my men or women in uniform keep in mind, nothing in life is free.”The sheriff cited incidents in other parts of the country over the past few months, including water being dumped on police in New York, projectiles being thrown and lasers being used to blind officers in Portland, and law enforcement being shot in U.S. cities like Chicago.The sheriff’s comments come at a time when people across the country are protesting police brutality and advocating for racial justice in their communities.
