Actor, writer and media producer Tyler Perry has offered to pay for the funeral for Rayshard Brooks, the man who was killed during an altercation with police in Atlanta on Friday.Attorney L. Chris Stewart, who is representing Brooks' family, said during a press conference on Monday that Perry had offered to pay for funeral arrangements."We want to acknowledge and thank Tyler Perry, who we spoke with, who will be taking care of the funeral for the family," Stewart said. "And it's support like that and it's people who are actually in this community, that love the community, that want healing and families like this to never have to go through something like this. It's a step forward and we want to thank him for such a generous move."Perry has been known to provide funeral services for others in the past. According to ABC News, he paid for the funeral services for two 15-month-old twin sisters who died after they left in a hot car in Georgia in 2016. In 2019, he reportedly paid for the funeral of a single mother of four children from Milwaukee.Earlier this month, boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. paid for the funeral services for George Floyd, who died in Minneapolis police custody. Brooks was killed on Friday when police attempted to take him into custody for DUI. A struggle ensued, and Brooks stole an officer's stun gun and tried to flee the scene. Officer Garrett Rolfe shot Brooks in the back twice, and Brooks later died in surgery at a local hospital. Amateur Ali Gibb enjoyed a trip to the golf course that Tiger Woods could only dream off earlier this week, hitting three hole-in-ones on the same day.The 51-year-old managed the incredible feat while successfully defending her championship title at the Croham Hurst Golf Club in Surrey, south of London.She hit her first ace on the par-three fifth hole that morning during the 36-hole tournament, before repeating the trick at the same hole during the afternoon.Gibb completed her incredible hat-trick at the par-three 11th and admitted she's still struggling to come to terms with what happened."It was a crazy day and what happened was quite unbelievable, it took its time to sink in," she told CNN Sport."Most people might spend all their lives trying to get one, I got three in five hours."Club pro Adam Aram said he was impressed when Gibb carded the first hole-in-one but by the by the time she sank the third it was "unbelievable.""I said to her what have you been drinking at lunch time, you can't have three holes in one on the same day - two's enough," Aram told CNN Sport."I think after the second win, she was too excited to concentrate and then she had a third -- I don't think she could quite work our what was happening, neither of us could."Before her unforgettable Tuesday, Gibb had registered three hole-in-ones in her entire time playing golf -- her first being at the Atlantic Beach Golf Estate in South Africa."I did some part-time consultancy work for a friend who runs a travel company and the course overlooked the bay," she said."I was thinking, 'that's it I'm done -- I've done my life hole-in-one."But now I have managed to double that -- which was completely unexpected."'You don't play golf'Gibb was introduced to the sport 20 years ago while working in London when a colleague invited her to join their golf day in Woburn, north of London.She immediately turned to her father for advice who had been playing since he was a child."He looked at me and said 'you don't play golf,' I said 'I know that dad, but the golf day is at Woburn, so I need to be able to play,'" she said.Gibb's father taught her some essentials -- like how to get out of a bunker -- and set her off on her way. Access to city and county beaches will be limited for the Fourth of July weekend because of the statewide and local spike in COVID-19 cases.An order banning vehicular access to Nueces County bay and gulf beaches goes into effect Friday morning at 6 a.m. and ends at 6 a.m. July 7.The restrictions also include golf carts and all-terrain vehicles.What the order does not address is where the thousands of beach visitors expected this holiday weekend will be able to park.With beaches limited to pedestrians only, parking places will be at a premium because once they’re gone, you’re going to have to walk.Just a few weeks ago, local officials expected thousands of tourists flocking to Padre Island and packed beaches, similar to what we saw Memorial Day weekend.“You could have driven that beach and you weren’t going to find a space to get in on the beach,” said Director of Coastal Parks Scott Cross.Nueces County tried a similar plan over Easter weekend, with mixed results.“Easter weekend when we closed it down, it proved to us that the honor system is not going to work with these cables and barricades,” said Cross.This weekend, the county will keep vehicles out by blocking access roads with giant sand berms.
