A new beer can with the message "poll workers needed" will be sold in four Kentucky breweries to recruit poll workers for the upcoming general election. After a shortage of poll workers in Kentucky's June primary meant limited polling locations, the partnership between Secretary of State Michael Adams and the Kentucky Guild of Brewers is intended to reach people who may have never considered working election day."Everybody needs to be out there voting every single year, but especially this year," said Bailey Johnson, marketing and sustainability manager for Pivot Brewing in Lexington. A Utah man is suing McDonald's and Coca-Cola's main bottler, Swire Coca-Cola, after he allegedly had his drink spiked at a McDonald's with the heroin substitute Suboxone.In a complaint filed in Utah's Third Judicial District Court, the plaintiff Trevor Walker alleges that his diet coke was spiked on Aug. 12, 2016, at a McDonald's drive-thru in Riverton, Utah.According to the complaint, Walker and his family went through the drive-thru, where they ordered two happy meals, two chicken sandwiches, and two Diet Cokes.Walker drank the beverage as he and his family went home, the complaint stated. While watching his children, Walker said that his fingers became non-responsive, and he began to lose feeling in his arms and legs."My life and being here is the biggest miracle of the whole situation," Walker told KTSU-TV in Utah. "As I started to shift my body, I started to sense almost like a lapse in time, like between the time I would move my hands there was a delay."The complaint said that during the incident, Walker sent the following text messages to his wife:Text No. 1: "Something is vey (sic) wrong with me. I am having sensations in my arms and everything is moving slowly. I'm feeling scared. I don't know what to do."Text No. 2: "I'm so scared I'm trying to be calm. I need you."Soon after sending the texts, the complaint alleges that Walker "blacked out," and fell onto a nearby table and collapsed onto the floor. Walker's wife came home, and he was taken to the emergency room.While at the hospital, the complaint stated that Walker's wife compared her Diet Coke to his, and noticed that his drink had, "speckles and a film on the surface—a fact that Trevor (Walker) was not aware of due to the lid placed by McDonald's on the drink."Walker's wife called the Unified Police Department and reported the suspicious drink. The plaintiff said that police responded to the hospital and took the drink for testing at the Utah State Crime Lab.The complaint said that the Utah State Crime Lab confirmed the drink contained a heroin substitute called buprenorphine or Suboxone. Walker's urine also tested positive for Buprenorphine."The drug negatively interacted with Mr. Walker's medication, causing him to lose feeling in his arms and legs, lose the ability to walk, and eventually lose consciousness," the complaint stated.McDonald's is accused in the complaint of failing to preserve the video recording of the drive-thru area where the alleged drink spiking took place, by deleting the video.Walker demanded a trial by jury in the complaint and sought relief for damages caused to him during the incident.The-CNN-Wire 2648

A Phoenix girl who was severely burned in March was visited by Grammy-winning artist Taylor Swift on Saturday. Eight-year-old Isabella and her father were injured on March 17 following an accident involving flammable liquids in north Phoenix. Swift stopped by the Maricopa Integrated Health System burn center in Phoenix to visit Isabella as she continues to undergo treatment. Swift is scheduled to perform at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale on Tuesday at 7 p.m.   522

Scripps news photographer loading cameras and other broadcast equipment into a wagon.Conservative commentators have alleged that the video shows a man wheeling a box of mail-in ballots into the TCF Center — a Detroit convention center where Michigan officials have been counting ballots. A robbery suspect calls himself a modern-day "Robin Hood," but he’s facing charges after thefts from construction sites in Port St. Lucie.Police said Thomas Paul Sauer, 50, was caught on surveillance video stealing appliances from at least two homes under construction.Security video shows a red SUV pulling up to a home in, a passenger getting out of the car, opening the garage door, then the SUV backing into the garage.On Sunday a Port St. Lucie police officer came across the suspect's vehicle, a 2005 Hyundai SUV, parked in a driveway about two-and-a-half miles away from the robbery.On Monday, detectives went to the home where the suspect's vehicle was still parked. While at the home, detectives met with Sauer who lives at the address. Sauer later admitted to taking a 0 washer and dryer from the first house, and an ,800 refrigerator out of a second house.Sauer told police that "he was like Robin Hood."
