A black bear that traveled across several states and garnered a large social media following has been rescued and transported to safety by the Missouri Department of Conservation.According to department officials, the bear traveled through Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri before finding himself trapped between two highways in Wentzville, Missouri.“The bear found itself in a tough spot, stuck by several major roadways,” said MDC State Furbearer Biologist Laura Conlee. “Due to the proximity to the roadways, coupled with the busy travel day, MDC staff determined the bear had little chance of safely leaving the area on its own. In the interest of public safety and the bear’s safety, MDC staff made the decision to immobilize the bear and transport it to a nearby area of suitable bear habitat outside this urban corridor.”Bruno was sedated and then was released unharmed when he awoke, MDC staff said.Social media users had dubbed the black bear Bruno after he was first spotted back in June, officials said in the press release.In a press release, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said Bruno likely traveled the long distance in search of a mate. 1173

A federal appeals court has ordered a judge to dismiss the government's case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, marking an abrupt end to a years-long legal fight.The New York Times and CNN confirmed the ruling Wednesday morning.Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in 2017 about his conversations with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak as President Donald Trump prepared to take office after winning the 2016 election. He attempted to withdraw his guilty plea earlier this year, and in May, the Justice Department dropped all charges against him.Upon the Justice Department's decision, the judge in the case, Judge Emmet Sullivan, chose not to dismiss the case immediately. A high-profile church pastor was charged with sexually assaulting two young sisters while he was in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for a religious conference.Florida pastor David Rowan was arrested there Tuesday. He's was indicted on rape, unlawful sexual contact and sexual battery by an authority figure.The arrest stemmed from an alleged incident here in Middle Tennessee back in 2014. Rowan was a guest speaker at a religious convention in Murfreesboro.Sex crimes detectives said he convinced the parents of two girls to let him take them to lunch. The family was seeking spiritual guidance from Rowan and trusted him.Police said he brought the 14 and 15-year-old sisters to a local hotel where he took advantage of the situation and molested them.Rowan is a well-known pastor in Milton, Florida, not far from Pensacola. He was held in the Santa Rosa County Jail before being brought back to Tennessee in the next two weeks to face charges.Scripps station WTVF in Nashville reached out to Faith Baptist Church in Florida. The staff there declined to comment.  1119
