SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Sockers announced Saturday that former team and North American Soccer League executive Jack Daley has died.Daley, 82, died on March 7 at his San Diego home, the team said. A cause of death was not immediately released.From 1981 to 1984, Daley was a managing partner for the Sockers, and prior to that, general manager of the Toronto Metros from 1971 to 1973 and then NASL Seattle Sounders from 1974 to 1981.During his time in Seattle, he helped the team to its first two Soccer Bowl championship games and iconic players to the city, according to the Seattle Times. He's credited with helping cement the Sounders as a household name in Seattle, before the league folded. The Sounders name would be adopted as Seattle's Major League Soccer expansion team in 2007. 803

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The views from atop of the old light house at Point Loma are off limits to virtually everyone most of the year except two particular twin sisters.Kim Falhlen and Karen Scanlon are volunteers at Cabrillo National Monument.The 67-year-old sisters are tasked with cleaning the rare glass lenses at the top of the lighthouse among other duties for the open tower days held only 3 days a year.“It’s almost in a constant need of repair,” said Kim Fahlen, “the tower wasn’t built for today’s activity.”The sisters grew up in Ohio and say they plan on helping at the tower as long as the park rangers at Cabrillo will let them.“We’re good for a while,” said Karen Scanlon, “we’ll keep doing this until they make us take a desk job.” 756

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The South Bay continues to be devastated by the coronavirus, with several of the hardest hit ZIP codes in the region.According to San Diego County data, the hardest hit ZIP code is 92154. The area, which includes Otay Mesa and parts of Imperial Beach, has the most cases in all of the county. In the last 30 days, cases have jumped from 3,290 to 4,528. Over 1,200 of the cases in this ZIP code happened in the last month.Other ZIP codes in the region have more than doubled their case rate in recent weeks. These ZIP codes have a large Latino population; Latinos have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, making up a majority of the county's positive cases while only making up roughly 34% of the population.INTERACTIVE MAP: CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES IN SD COUNTYNancy Maldonado from the Chicano Federation said it's no surprise the region continues to see the high number in cases. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The Trump administration is targeting California for its sanctuary laws protecting undocumented immigrants.Immigrants in San Diego say they already live in fear of being split from their families. Those who came here for a better life say they are contributing to the economy and their communities. They say it's unfair to paint all undocumented immigrants as criminals.Jesus Mendez Carbajal, a DACA recipient and Human Rights Organizer for Alliance San Diego, believes the lawsuit is unfair and infringes on state's rights.However, some U.S. citizens say it's about time an administration took serious action against states.Brenda Sparks recently moved out of California because of its sanctuary laws. She doesn't believe the state is doing enough to protect its legal citizens.Now she lives in Mesa, Arizona.Almost seven years ago, Spark's son Eric was killed when an undocumented immigrant without a drivers license hit him. Sparks believes if the United States was tougher on illegal immigration her son would still be alive today. 1063

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Tommy Bahama is known for its selection of tropical clothes and button-up shirts, but will soon add exotic drinks and dishes to its list in Mission Valley.The retail chain says it's set to open a Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar at Fashion Valley Mall in Spring 2020. It will be the company's fourth San Diego store.The 7,200-square-foot retail-restaurant concept will combine a retail shop selling the company's line of men's and women's sportswear and home decor with a casual restaurant and bar offering food and cocktails.RELATED: Margaritaville Island Resort coming to San DiegoTommy Bahama didn't say where within Fashion Valley the location would be placed. 10News has reached out to the mall for comment, but have yet to hear back.Judging by the menu at other locations, guests can expect cocktails with a tropical kick, like margaritas, mai tais, and mojitos, and dishes like mahi mahi, avocado salad, tacos, burgers, and more.Tommy Bahama currently has more than 160 retail locations across the country, with 17 of those locations doubling as Marlin Bars or retail-restaurant stores. 1111
