Health officials in Santa Clara County, California, say that they have traced 94 cases of COVID-19 to a youth basketball tournament that took place illegally at a nearby indoor sports complex last month.According to CNN, Courtside Basketball Center in Rocklin, California — located northwest of Sacramento — hosted a "Fall Fest" tournament on Nov. 7 and 8 that featured several teams and dozens of players and coaches.On Friday, The Mercury News reported that a total of 94 cases of COVID-19 — including 77 in Santa Clara County alone — could be traced back to the tournament.The Mercury News says the outbreak includes 39 "middle- and high school players," three coaches and 35 additional contacts."This outbreak is a troubling reminder that the widespread prevalence of COVID-19 in our community threatens all of us, and does not limit itself to geographic boundaries," Santa Clara County's assistant public health officer, Dr. Monika Roy, said in a statement.The California Department of Public Health said in a release that is has opened an "enforcement investigation" into the tournament's operator.CNN reported last month that the Courtside Basketball Center's website included a note that urged anyone who was in attendance for the tournament to get tested for the virus, "regardless of whether they have symptoms."As of last month, CNN reports that the complex had hoped to host four more basketball tournaments by the end of the year. HAWAII — There was a close call at a preschool in Hawaii.The Hawaii State Department of Health says a classroom assistant mistook Pine-Sol for apple juice while serving snacks.The assistant at Kilohana United Methodist Church in East Oahu was preparing a snack for the children and grabbed a bottle of the cleaning liquid from a clean-up cart in the kitchen on November 27.The assistant apparently mistook it for apple juice because of its similar color, the school's director told the health department inspector.A classroom teacher smelled the cleaning product and stopped students from drinking it.EMS evaluated three students who took small sips of the cleaning liquid, but none of them needed treatment.One parent whose child was in the class says she was shocked a mistake like that could happen.The State Health Department says each year about a dozen people accidentally ingest Pine-Sol, and half of them are kids.CNN contributed to this report. 966

(AP) — A man serving a life sentence in the death of his estranged wife led authorities to where he buried her body in Michigan eight years ago in exchange for an Xbox, according to authorities.Doug Stewart, 29, will also be allowed to participate in some prison programs, the Sturgis Journal reported.On Monday, he took detectives to a wooded area in Kalamazoo County where he had buried Venus Stewart, 32. Venus Stewart had moved after accusing her husband of domestic violence and molesting their daughter, according to police reports.Doug Stewart was convicted of first-degree murder in 2011, based largely on the testimony of Ricky Spencer. Spencer told authorities that he had been persuaded to impersonate Doug Stewart while the man drove to Michigan.Authorities have been visiting with Stewart annually since his sentencing to try and get information about the body's location."The criminal portion has been closed. We just kept at it to help find closure for Venus' family," said Michigan State Police Detective Sgt. Todd Peterson.Stewart had long maintained that he hadn't been involved in the killing, but said things changed when his sister began to reconcile with his wife's family. GEORGIA — A tour bus carrying 18 passengers headed to watch golf at the Masters Tournament overturned Thursday morning, and the driver has been charged.The crash near Augusta happened just before 9 a.m. Eastern. The Georgia State Patrol said the driver has been charged with driving under the influence.The bus went off the right side of the road, GSP said in a release. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle overturned in a median on Interstate 20."Several of the passengers were transported to Doctors Hospital in Augusta with non-life threatening injuries," the report said.The driver of the bus was Steven F.
