Gavin Newsom said during a news conference that the county could be dropped from the list by Tuesday.Sunday, Aug. 16, was the fifth consecutive day San Diego County reported fewer than 100 positive coronavirus tests.State and county officials have said counties would be removed from the monitoring list if rates remain below 100 positive cases per 100,000 people for three straight days.Of the state's 58 counties, 42 remain on that list; five counties were added, with Santa Cruz County falling off Aug. 14."This is a dynamic list. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas and Electric and the city of San Diego are in a disagreement that could be worth up to 0 million.The controversy is over San Diego's Pure Water project, which would turn sewage into high treated drinking water. The city's goal is to have a third of its water supply be reclaimed water by 2035. To accomplish that, the city plans to build a billion pipeline to pump sewage from the Morena area to the North City Water Reclamation Plant on the edge of Miramar.On Thursday, the City Council voted 5-4 to approve about .1 billion for the project. But completing the pipeline would require SDG&E to remove its gas and electric lines. The city says SDG&E usually does that on its own dime, but this time - the utility says it will not spend the money. The City Attorney's office is now involved.The council voted 8-1 to authorize million this fiscal year, but is retaining its legal rights to recover the money. The city may have to spend another million next fiscal year to complete the project.In a statement, SDG&E says it supports the project but is working to protect its ratepayers."Our goals are to assist the City with their plans and ensure our customers, especially those outside City limits who will not benefit from the project, are not unfairly burdened with utility relocation costs," the statement said. The city hopes to begin advertising for construction for the pipeline next month.   1491

The median price in the county is now 3,700, up 6.6 percent from a year earlier."Now with prices being so high, we decided to move to Arizona where prices are more affordable," said Eric Oster, who rents an apartment in the Kearny Mesa area.Zillow expects that rate of appreciation to decline to 4.7 percent by next year. Still, the cooling home price growth is being offset by higher interest rates, which increases monthly payments. "The key is, if you're going to buy a home, the biggest question is - can I afford the payments, and if you're stretching yourself too thin it doesn't matter what the market's doing," said Bridget Potterton, a San Diego Real Estate Broker.The median home value in the US is currently 7,300. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body in the waters off Fiesta Island Saturday.Police said they received a call just after 6:40 a.m. about a body floating in the water on the south side of the island. San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel arrived and removed the body from the water and pronounced the victim dead.Police said while there are no obvious signs of trauma, because of the circumstances and condition of the body SDPD Homicide investigators were called to the scene.Little is still known about the victim and circumstances surrounding her death, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Humane Society officers rescued 21 cats living in filthy conditions in a South Bay home on Tuesday.SDHS said Wednesday officers were working to recover more from the home.The cats were recovered from the home and are suffering from a range of health conditions, including malnutrition, fleas, upper respiratory infections, and some eye traumas that were left untreated. Wednesday, one of those cats was scheduled to undergo emergency eye surgery.Humane Society staff say the cats will be cared for at the shelter but did not say whether they would eventually be offered for adoption.SDHS did not say whether charges were being filed against the homeowner. 692
