Cory Gardner, the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said Wednesday that Roy Moore, the Republican candidate for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat, should drop out of the special election if the allegations he had a sexual relationship with a teen girl are true.The Washington Post broke the story Wednesday that in 1979, Moore—then a 32-year-old district attorney—had a sexual encounter with a girl who was 14 years old at the time.The Post reported that after meeting the girl one day, Moore picked her up days later, took her to a wooded area, kissed her, removed his clothes, and touched her inappropriately.Three other women told The Post Moore had pursued them while he was in his 30s and they were between 16 and 18 years old, though they said no sexual contact occurred.Moore denied the allegations, calling them “completely false” and a “desperate political attack” by the Democratic Party and Washington Post. His campaign said the report was “the very definition of fake news and intentional defamation.”But Colorado's Gardner, who as chairman of the NRSC is in charge of helping elect and re-elect Republicans to the U.S. Senate, appeared to be taking the report seriously.“The allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore are deeply troubling,” Gardner said in a prepared statement. “If these allegations are found to be true, Roy Moore must drop out of the Alabama special Senate election.”Gardner, as the NRSC chair, endorsed Moore in late September after he defeated Sen. DENVER — A Denver couple that drove to Little Rock, Arkansas to pick up three puppies purchased online, is now warning others about a pet scam that cost them hundreds of dollars.Breckenridge and Mary Lynn Grover love French bulldogs. They had two until September when their beloved “Derby” died.“He’d eaten supper and went outside,” Breckenridge Grover said. “I heard a scream, went downstairs and saw him lying down.”He said he tried to resuscitate the dog.“He died in my arms of a heart attack,” he said.The couple told KMGH that with Derby gone, their other French bulldog, Liza Jane, became listless and depressed.Last month, they decided to look online for a new dog, as a companion for Liza Jane.Seller pours on the charmThey found a pug in Austin. Mary Lynn Grover said the owner asked them to send money via the Zelle app.They hadn’t used it before but thought they’d give it a try, then had second thoughts.“We did everything,” she said. “Wells Fargo was wonderful getting things back, saying ‘I think this guy chickened out. He didn’t even have a Zelle account.’ ”The Grovers continued their search, trying to be more cautious the second time around.They found three French bulldogs via online advertisements and said the seller poured on the charm.“He said, ‘Now you are part of my family. These were my mother’s puppies.’ He even sent us a picture of the kennel he was buying for us and said, ‘I will make dinner.’ I mean he knew me as a soft spot. While it can provide a sense of freedom for some children, many kids with physical disabilities don't have the opportunity to enjoy the experience. That was almost the case for one young Denver boy, but thanks to a family friend, he can now pedal to his heart's content.Keeping up with Alex Braun, 5, on the playground can be a challenge. He moves around quickly.His mother, Amber Braun, calls Alex "a ray of sunshine.""He is so funny, he is our little comedian," she said. "We call him the mayor because he just loves to talk."He also loves to play, but unlike the rest of the kids, it takes him a little longer to reach his destination."I can't really run, just one foot at a time," Alex said.His mom said he can't feel much from his knees down.She said she'll never forget the two doctors who advised her to terminate her pregnancy after diagnosing her baby, Alex, with spina bifida. The birth defect is a condition that affects the spine. It can cause physical and intellectual disabilities that range from mild to severe, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."Kind of like a cute orange that was on his back, so the spine opened up — the spinal cord kind of came out, which affected the way that he walks today," Amber said.Alex has undergone six surgeries throughout his lifetime. His family has traveled the country for foot casts to help correct his clubfeet and he has attended therapy nearly all of his life. Amber said they work his muscles every day to make them stronger."We give him all the opportunities that we give our daughter and our son," she said.This summer, Amber said she tapped into a spina bifida mom's group on Facebook and asked about bikes for children with the condition. She said she was quickly directed to the nonprofit Adaptive Adventures. The organization provides outdoor sports opportunities for people with physical disabilities. The organization loaned Amber a unique bike to fit Alex's needs.Amber posted a video of Alex on the Adaptive Adventure bike. Christine Garcia, a family friend who met Amber before Alex was born, said the post made her want to take action."My momma heart exploded," Garcia said. "I just got overwhelmed with a feeling of you know what, Alex needs that bike and we have to make this happen."She reached out to Adaptive Adventures and asked to purchase the bike and set up a GoFundMe to raise ,500."The money was raised within days of being posted," Garcia said.Amber said she vividly remembers the priceless expression on Alex's face."He was like, 'What! It's mine?'" she remembered. Details emerged about what happened to a Port St. Lucie, Florida woman and her boyfriend, both found murdered in their homes in February. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.“We have previously released that Chip Anderson died as a result of natural causes,” said Mascara. “Toxicology results have returned and indicated no presence of drugs or alcohol and his final cause of death has been ruled a heart attack.”At 9:58 a.m. that morning, deputies then responded to 606 Ash Avenue and found Legg dead inside her garage and wrapped in a rug. “Her cause of death has been contributed to multiple stab wounds,” Mascara said.Legg was Anderson's aunt by marriage."She was the primary figure in Chip Anderson's life. Both on an emotional and financial standpoint," Sheriff Mascara said. "It is very clear that Chip relied on Gabriele very immensely."Deputies also confirmed that Anderson worked with Legg in her painting business.“We don’t believe there was any sort of romantic relationship between them, but it’s clear that Gabriele was very important to Chip," said Mascara.The sheriff said Anderson lived with Legg and stayed in the house with her body for days. It is believed she was killed around Feb. 19."We believe she was killed in a bedroom. He kept her in that bedroom for sometime, and then dragged her through the house.
