Multiple cell phones, scopes, two rifles and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition were found by police during a search of Travis Reinking's Antioch apartment. In an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, detectives searched Reinking's Discovery at Mountain View apartment and took a number of items. The two rifles were a CZ 452-2EZKM .22 caliber and a Remington 30-06.Police found hundreds of .22 caliber rifle bullets, 87 30-06 bullets, 30 .223 bullets, 29 .45 bullets and 43 .22 caliber bullets.They also found four cell phones, two scopes, a notebook, a safe and several computers. The affidavit describes Reinking's apartment as a one-bedroom apartment. Police said he has been living there for three months. Inside of Reinking's truck that was left at the Waffle House, police found two checks made out to "Travis J. Rankins [sic]." Also, police found an iPod and a Buck Knife with a black sheath.Assorted documents and papers were found in both the apartment and the truck, though what information they contain was not specified. (AP) — A Southern California school district will pay million to the parents of a 13-year-old boy who drowned in a high school pool.A lawsuit settlement between the family of Alex Pierce and the Murrieta Valley Unified High School District was announced Tuesday.Alex was at a 2016 pool party at Vista Murrieta High School when he got into trouble and was underwater for several minutes.Classmates pulled him out but the student lifeguards didn't perform CPR. The comatose teen was removed from life support a month later.The lawsuit said the school district lacked proper safety policies.The district didn't acknowledge any wrongdoing but agreed to change its safety plan and train all faculty in CPR. MONROE, Ohio -- Authorities in Ohio have charged a 17-year-old driver whose classmate was killed when she crashed on the way to prom last month.The teen — Scripps station WCPO in Cincinnati is not naming her because she is a minor — is facing two counts of vehicular assault and one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, the Butler County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.Prosecutor Michael Gmoser said he plans to keep the case in juvenile court.The Monroe High School student was driving three classmates to prom on April 27 when she crashed. Police previously said the driver was speeding on her way to prom when she attempted a course-correction and lost control of the 2013 Tesla on Millikin Road in Liberty Township and hit a telephone pole.?Kaylie Jackson, 17, was riding in the back seat and was not wearing a seatbelt, deputies said. She was ejected from the car through the windshield and flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (AP) — A prosecutor in the trial of an Iowa father whose infant son was found dead and maggot-infested in a baby swing last year has told a jury the child "died of diaper rash."Assistant Iowa Attorney General Coleman McAllister told jurors Tuesday that 4-month-old Sterling Koehn had been in the same diaper for nine to 14 days when his body was found in the swing Aug. 30, 2017, at his parents' Alta Vista apartment, the Courier reported .The baby's father, 29-year-old Zachary Paul Koehn, is charged with murder and child endangerment. The boy's mother, Cheyanne Harris, is also charged and faces a separate trial at a later date.McAllister said Tuesday in opening statements that the baby's heavily soiled diaper had attracted bugs that had laid eggs, which had hatched into maggots. The resulting diaper rash led to ruptured skin, and e.Coli bacteria set in."He died of diaper rash. That's right, diaper rash," McAllister said.A coroner's report showed the baby died of malnutrition, dehydration and the infection.In opening statements Tuesday, Koehn's attorney said the baby's death was a tragedy, but not a crime.McAllister denied the defense's claims, saying Koehn was an experienced parent. He noted that Koehn's 2-year-old daughter was also in the apartment and was healthy, and that Koehn had money to buy food and baby supplies. He stated Koehn was a drug user.Nurse and county rescue squad EMT Toni Friedrich testified Tuesday that she was the first to arrive at the apartment after Koehn called 911 to report the baby had died. Friedrich said Koehn showed no emotion when he led her to the dark, hot bedroom where the baby's body was.The baby's "eyes were open, and it was a blank stare," she said.Friedrich said when she touched the baby's chest, his clothing was crusty. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Delta Air Lines pilot from Minnesota was charged Friday with operating an aircraft under the influence of alcohol.Tests confirmed that 37-year-old Gabriel Schroeder, of Rosemont, had a blood alcohol level between 0.04% and 0.08% when detectives arrested him on a plane at the Minneapolis airport just as it started boarding for a flight to San Diego on July 20, according to the criminal complaint.The limit set by the Federal Aviation Administration is 0.04%, which is half the legal limit for driving in Minnesota.Schroder's first court date is Nov. 27. Court records don't list an attorney who could comment for him.According to the complaint, Schroeder told detectives that he'd had one beer and three vodka drinks the night before. He also admitted discarding an unopened vodka bottle that investigators found in an airport bathroom after he saw that security screening for crews had been stepped up.Delta removed Schroder from flying after his arrest. 986
