A north Georgia high school teacher was arrested on Wednesday after he barricaded himself in a classroom and fired a shot from his handgun out of a window, police said.No one was injured in the incident at Dalton High School, except for a student who injured an ankle running through the school, police spokesman Bruce Frazier said.The shooting about 85 miles north of Atlanta heightened the already tense debate around guns in schools in the wake of the deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Florida two weeks ago.The incident began about 11:30 a.m. when Randal Davidson, a 53-year-old social studies teacher, refused to let students into his classroom, Frazier said. When the principal put a key in the door in an attempt to enter, Davidson fired a shot from a handgun through an exterior window of the classroom, according to Frazier.The school immediately went into lockdown, and police quickly arrived and evacuated the immediate area around his classroom. After about 30 to 45 minutes, Davidson agreed to surrender to authorities and was taken into custody without further incident, Frazier said.Frazier said there was no evidence that Davidson was trying to fire at anyone."It certainly seemed like he didn't have any intention to harm anybody else," Frazier said.Davidson had been a teacher at Dalton since 2004 and was the play-by-play radio announcer for the high school's football team, Frazier said. A man who said he was "super hungover" caused a crash that killed a woman and severely injured a man in Arizona, according to officials. Scottsdale police report that on February 15 at 9:45 a.m., they responded to a two-vehicle crash near Hayden and McKellips roads.Police say 33-year-old Frederick Kipper MacArthur was driving his 2005 Infiniti?when he crossed the center line and struck another car with two people inside, head-on.?The passenger, Jessica Bailey, was killed in the collision and the driver continues to suffer from multiple injuries, including two broken legs, a femoral artery tear and partially amputated arm. MacArthur also went to the hospital with neck and rib fractures. Police say MacArthur admitted to drinking the night before and into the morning, saying he "got really drunk." It’s when family members in different houses or close friends agree to socialize in person, but only with each other to limit the risk of infection.“So, when you join a bubble, you're taking on additional risk and the amount of risk you're taking on is that difference between you and the person with the highest risk in the group,” said Cyrus Shahpar, an epidemiologist with Resolve to Save Lives. “So, it’s important to be vigilant and trust those in the bubble.”Part of a support bubble agreement is that everyone practices the same things outside the bubble, including not forming other bubbles. You should also agree to how long the bubble will last. Obviously, the less people, the lower the risk.It’s also a good strategy for families that need help with things like childcare or taking care of an aging relative.Even professional sports teams and other businesses are somewhat following this theory, setting up things like safe hotels and doing things like testing anyone that comes in.“Then, you tell them they can’t leave the place and inside have to be careful about interaction, then you could theoretically say that’s a safer place than outside the hotel,” said Shahpar.Support bubbles could also help limit virus spread even if someone inside the group were to get the virus, because you already know who the close contacts are.“As we navigate through uncharted waters, we don’t know what’s going to happen. We don’t know how long it’s going to last.
