The Italians got to the Fallentine's home the night before the Fallentine's flew off to the Italians' home in Rome.“I took them to Costco. They bought all this food and then they said, ‘Oh, we're going make you guys dinner.’ I’m like, ‘Totally! I’m not going to pass up a meal by real Italians. I mean, that's crazy!’”Fallentine says when her own family home-swaps, having access to another home’s kitchen is one of the biggest cost-savers.“If you're thinking about the food aspect, just to be able to cook your own food is amazing and [you have a] full kitchen with everything you need,” she adds.Another perk is having access to a home's laundry room. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surgeons at UC San Diego are using new technology that offers more options for patients who have complex thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms. UC San Diego Health System is the first on the West Coast to use Dynamic Morphology Correction, a type of 3D imaging. It allows surgeons to compare scans taken before the procedure to real-time pictures during the surgery.Dr. Mahmoud Malas, Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at UC San Diego, says this type of technology uses minimal iodine contrast which lessens the chance of kidney problems for 25 percent of patients dealing with aneurysms.The data from this technology helps surgeons across the country.Dr. Malas adds, " They create prediction models that helps future surgeons perform procedures more accurately." 795

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a mother and daughter killed by a YouTuber in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 805 filed a lawsuit this week against the teenager’s estate, the City of San Diego, and the County of San Diego. Eighteen-year-old Trevor Heitmann, known as McSkillet, drove his McLaren the wrong way on the freeway in August 2018, killing Aileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana. The sports car collided with the family’s SUV, which burst into flames. In their lawsuit, Aileen’s father Miguel Pizarro and son Dominic Pizarro cited the County and City for negligence resulting in death. The lawsuit cites an incident the day before the crash, during which the San Diego County Psychiatric Emergency Response Team responded to a call claiming Heitmann was “screaming, paranoid, and delusional”. A psychiatrist, Dr. Mary Rusher, told police she had evaluated Heitmann and he was “a danger to himself and to others and must be immediately detained on a California Welfare & Institutions Code 5150 hold,” the suit stated. Rusher also told a police dispatcher Heitmann had displayed manic symptoms and appeared paranoid, delusional, out of control, and threatened to harm his mother in preceding days, according to the court document. “Police left the home without any evaluation of Trevor’s condition, or notifying PERT, if they were not part of same (PERT),” the lawsuit says. The suit claims the police officers were not exercising their authority to place Heitmann on a 5150 hold in accordance with the law. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The man suspected of driving into and setting fire to a Raytheon building in San Diego last month appeared in court Wednesday. Daniel Hector Mackinnon, 36, pleaded not guilty at his Wednesday arraignment. Mackinnon was charged with two counts of malicious destruction of a building by means of fire in late April. According to authorities, on April 24, an explosion occurred at the Raytheon building on the 8600 block of Balboa Avenue. RELATED: Man accused of slamming into Raytheon building federally chargedA complaint filed in federal court says surveillance video shows a Toyota Prius drive into the side of the building before a man can be seen in the back of the car. Authorities say the man then opened the back hatch when a fireball shot from the side of the vehicle and the man fled. According to the complaint, two empty magazine cartridges and remnants of a melted gas container were found inside the car. The Prius also had two different stolen California license plates.
