Air France confirmed on Wednesday the death of a stowaway who was discovered in the well of the landing gear after a flight from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, bound for Paris. In a statement, Air France said it was saddened by the incident and that an investigation is underway.According to BBC News, the stowaway was a child, roughly aged 10. It is unknown how the child was able to get into the landing gear. While there have been a handful of instances when a stowaway survived in the landing gear of a plane, there have been a number of recent examples of stowaways dying. A six-year-old girl died Monday after she was hit in the head by a golf ball that her father hit, authorities said.The child was sitting in a parked golf cart on a path left of where her father was teeing off, according to Orem Police Lt. A suspect accused of fatally shooting an Illinois deputy assigned to a US Marshals task force while the deputy was trying to serve a warrant in Rockford on Thursday morning will face murder charges, authorities said.Deputy Jacob Keltner, who was with McHenry County Sheriff's Office for almost 13 years, was shot outside the suspect's room, Rockford Police Chief Dan O'Shea said.
