A 7-year-old Guatemalan girl died last week, hours after she was taken into Border Patrol custody, the Department of Homeland Security said.The Washington Post first reported Thursday that the girl died of dehydration and septic shock last week in El Paso, Texas after she was taken into custody by Border Patrol after crossing illegally with her father into the United States."Our sincerest condolences go out to the family of the child," the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees Border Patrol, said in a statement."Border Patrol agents took every possible step to save the child's life under the most trying of circumstances. Currently, the blaze has burned less than an acre and has a slow rate of spread. Approximately five homes were threatened by the blaze. (KGTV) - The mother of two girls found dead in their San Bernardino County home will be charged with their murders when she is released from the hospital, Ontario police said Thursday. Officers said Linda Nguyen, 47, was placed under arrest and will be booked when she is medically cleared. She is currently unresponsive, police said. The bodies of Nguyen¡¯s daughters, aged 4 months and 14 years, were discovered by their father Tuesday when he returned home from work. Among the evidence were two suicides notes written by Nguyen ¡°indicating that she intended to kill the children and to kill herself," police Sgt. Bill Russell told reporters. "We do know that the mother was dealing with depression prior to the incident and had dealt with that in the past," he said. ¡¡¡¡(KGTV) ¡ª U.S. citizens traveling to Europe will have to be mindful of new visa rules after 2021.Starting on Jan. 21, 2021, Americans will need a ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) visa when traveling to a European Schengen-zone country, which includes Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, and Italy. Though, travelers heading to Ireland or the United Kingdom will not need the new visa.The visa will cost a one-time fee of about €7, or about to , according to a release from the European Union. The move is meant to improve security, "to avoid any further problems with illegal migration and terrorism," the ETIAS visa website says.Currently, U.S. citizens traveling to Europe for 90 days or less do not need a visa. Eventually, the new visa will be required for short-stay travel as well.To apply for a visa, Americans will need a valid passport, an email account, and a credit or debit card. Passports must be valid for three months beyond the period of an individual's intended stay.Americans will be required to have a ETIAS visa valid for three years when entering European Schengen-zone countries. ¡¡¡¡A Baltimore County, Maryland police officer was killed in the line of duty in Perry Hall, Maryland on Monday. According to Baltimore County Police, around 2 p.m. they received a call for a suspicious vehicle in the unit-block of Linwen Way. Police say the officer responded to the scene when she encountered a suspect or suspects. They say she suffered significant critical injuries and was later transported to Franklin Square Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 2:50 p.m.The officer was a 4-year veteran with the police force and was expecting an anniversary this July.Officials said there were multiple suspects involved but they are actively searching for at least one suspect.During a press conference, Cpl. Shawn Vinson said detectives determined that there was a house on Linwen Way that has damage to a patio door. The damage indicated that it may have been a burglary in progress.Baltimore County Police are searching for an armed suspect and they are expanding the scene. 1120
