He loved his family, loved to skateboard," said Amber Krapf, Logan Krapf's mother.Logan was on his skateboard, just before 7:30 p.m that night in a neighborhood in the San Diego Country Estates. He was on Barona Mesa Road near a streetlight with two friends, one on a skateboard, another on a bike.His friends say they were wearing helmets in the streets, and going from right to left in the road, headed toward a golf course, when the headlights on a pickup appeared around a curve.Two of the boys managed to get to the roadside, but Logan did not, as the truck struck him. His mother Amber got the call and raced to the scene."Everyone around me was crying. I was number and just in shock that this could happen," said Amber.By the time she arrived, her son had passed."I kissed him. Told him that I loved him. Told him goodbye, that it was okay," said a tearful Amber.CHP investigators say the driver, a 20-year-old man, did stop and performed CPR. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor, but Amber believes speed was. The speed limit is 25."An officer said he admitted on scene that he was going at least 45 ... My son’s friends say ... it was closer to 55," said Amber.Days later, flowers and candles stand where a young life was cut short, weeks before his birthday and first-ever football practice at Ramona High."He loved football. He was supposed to be the starting nose guard for football season, and so excited to play his first season," said Amber.Instead, a grieving family must now plan a funeral."It hurts to take every breath. I don’t know how I’m going to do this for a lifetime," said Amber.Amber says she hopes no other families will have to feel the pain she's feeling."The speed in a known problem. RALEIGH, N.C. – The Associated Press has declared President Donald Trump the winner in North Carolina, though Joe Biden is still projected to win the presidency. The AP concluded Friday that there were not enough outstanding ballots remaining to be counted in the state that would allow Joe Biden to overtake Trump’s lead of 73,697 votes.Friday was the deadline for counties in North Carolina to certify their results. Following updates from most counties in the state, Trump leads Biden by 1.3 percentage points.Trump campaigned aggressively in North Carolina with in-person rallies at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, including gatherings in Fayetteville, Winston-Salem and Greenville in the weeks before the election.He was scheduled to hold the Republican National Convention in the state but pulled out after a fight with the state’s Democratic governor over coronavirus restrictions. It was moved to Jacksonville, Florida, before being largely canceled all together.Trump’s win in the Tar Heel State puts the president at 232 electoral votes and Joe Biden remains at 290 votes.Biden is still projected to win the presidential election, since he has surpassed the 270-vote threshold needed to claim victory.The only state the AP has yet to call is Georgia, which is conducting a recount because neither Biden or Trump leads by more than .5 percentage points. (KGTV) -- The ex-husband of former Army veteran Julia Jacobson pleaded guilty Monday to a 2nd-degree murder charge.Dalen Ware will be sentenced October 15 and faces 15 years to life in prison.Jacobson disappeared over Labor Day weekend in 2017 and is believed to have been murdered along with her dog, Boogie.RELATED: Human remains found in shallow grave during search for missing San Diego woman  Jacobson’s car was later discovered abandoned near her home in University Heights.In December of 2017, Ontario Police discovered the remains of a woman and a dog in a shallow grave along Interstate 10.Jacobson's family posted a message on a public Facebook page following the news:  733
