In 2020, election sites are looking a little different: an art museum, a pro-basketball arena, new mobile voting vehicles and even a bar that combines football with bowling.These are some of the unique polling locations in Atlanta, Georgia, as local government leaders are partnering with those venues to make it easier for people to cast their ballots.“This is so something you would not expect,” said Jon Dilley, general manager of Fowling Warehouse a 25,000 square foot bar that’s being transformed into a unique polling location.Customer Elliot Anderson is excited during this election season to grab a beer and fill out a ballot at Fowling Warehouse.“Just opening up different places to vote,” he said. “That’s always going to be good.”Across Atlanta, new mobile voting vehicles are opening up new opportunities for people living in areas described as “voting deserts.”“This is more of an African American community,” said voter Davonne Reaves of her neighborhood on Atlanta’s east side. “The lines are a lot longer and sometimes that can actually discourage people to vote.”Reaves says this voting process took less than 30 minutes and that these new mobile polling buses help encourage her community to get more involved with politics.“I think with this bus, this is actually going to create a movement,” she said. “We’ll probably see more of these types of buses and more creative locations for people to get out and vote.”Creative ways to make sure people’s votes are collected in a timely manner.“When it comes down to it, even the most engaged voters may be not be able to spend two or three hours in line,” said Robert Preuhs, Ph.D., chair of the political science department at MSU Denver.Preuhs says more options give more voters a greater chance at getting involved in the political process.“Having more polling places, whether they’re unique or not, close to them really is going to matter in terms of the ability for people to make their voice heard,” he said.More voices heard and more votes counted for what could turn out to be the most unique election in U.S. history. 2097

(KGTV)— South Bay beaches are closed again, after millions of gallons of contaminated sewage water spilled from Tijuana, BC into Imperial Beach communities.It may look beautiful from afar, but up close, Giovanny Ceja says the waves were a little off Thursday afternoon. “We usually go to other beaches, and they look really clear, but that one was dirty and brown,” Ceja said.  Ceja and his little sister spent the day at Imperial Beach, near the south end of Seacoast Drive, boogie boarding and building sand castles. To get there, he walked right past many warning signs. Large yellow signs read: “KEEP OUT. SEWAGE CONTAMINATED WATER.”“It’s a completely unacceptable,” Imperial Beach City Councilwoman Paloma Aguirre says.According to the International Boundary Water Commission, a Tijuana water collector ruptured Wednesday night. That spilled 3.5 million gallons of sewage water into the Tijuana River, which gushed into South Imperial Beach. “It’s incredibly frustrating because this is the summer. This is our time to have open beaches in Imperial Beach,” Aguirre said. “It’s because of the incredible negligence that the state of Baja California authorities have shown and the lack of accountability and leadership from our federal agencies.”So far this year, there have been 50 beach closure days in Imperial Beach. Aguirre says as polluted water gushes into IB, quality of life gushes out. “At the end of the day Imperial Beach is at the end of the pipe,” Aguirre said. “We are the ones that are paying with economic losses, with illnesses to our kids, to our families, and to our environment.”As for little Giovanny, who did not notice the warning signs, now he is getting worried. “When I was boogie boarding the water wet in my mouth,” Ceja said. “I’ll shower. In a joint status update filed in federal court, Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team claimed that former Trump campaign head Paul Manafort had lied to investigators after promising to cooperate with Mueller as part of a plea agreement. On Sept. 14, Manafort pleaded guilty on charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States and witness tampering. Manafort has remained in prison awaiting sentencing. Part of the update reads: "The plea agreement provides that if the defendant fails to fulfill completely “each and every one” of his obligations under this agreement, or “engages in any criminal activity prior to sentencing,” the defendant will be in breach of the agreement. A breach relieves the government of any obligations it has under the agreement, including its agreement to a reduction in the Sentencing Guidelines for acceptance of responsibility, but leaves intact all the obligations of the defendant as well as his guilty pleas."Manafort's counsel disputed the FBI's claims. The report states, "After signing the plea agreement, Manafort met with the government on numerous occasions and answered the government’s questions.
