DENVER – Denver business owners have until the end of the month to make sure they’re complying with changes to the city’s building code in regard to gendered language on restroom signs.The Denver City Council voted in December 2016 to amend the code to state that any single-occupant restroom – a restroom with a single stall or toilet or a stall and urinal that’s intended for use by one person at a time – must have a sign stating that it’s open for use by anyone regardless of gender.Existing businesses have until April 30 to meet that requirement.The change also applies to “family” or assisted-use restrooms.Many of these bathrooms are likely already gender neutral; the change in the building code simply states that they must be labeled as such. The change also requires that the restrooms lock from the inside.The city doesn’t require any specific wording or a particular sign design, but the sign must make it clear that the restroom is gender-neutral.According to the city’s website, businesses that don’t have the proper signs will receive a notice that they have 30 days to comply. Democrats plan to force a vote Wednesday morning on a bill related to health care coverage of pre-existing conditions and the size and scope of insurance plans, the latest action from the minority party's push to focus on the issue of health care going into the midterms.Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin is using the Congressional Review Act to force a vote to overturn the Trump administration rule to expand short-term insurance plans. Forty-nine Democratic senators have said they will support the resolution and they would need two additional Republican votes to reach the fifty-one-vote threshold for the measure to pass, though the GOP-controlled House would likely not act on the legislation. That makes the series of events a largely symbolic vote aimed at forcing moderate Republicans to possibly take a politically difficult vote on the record.Short-term health plans don't have to adhere to the Affordable Care Act's regulations that protect people with pre-existing conditions. DETROIT - The bodies of 11 infants were found in the ceiling of a former funeral home on Detroit's east side Friday evening, according to Detroit Police. Police say the bodies were found in a box and in a small casket. Cadaver dogs were on scene, and in all police found the 11 bodies of infants and stillborns. The Cantrell Funeral Home was shut down earlier this year due to several violations and "deplorable, unsanitary conditions." Police say a tip through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) sparked the investigation. LARA reported Cantrell Funeral Home had 60 days to either assign its existing prepaid contracts to another person registered under the Prepaid Act and notify the Department and contract buyers of the assignment within 30 days of the assignment.The funeral home's other option was to cancel their current contracts and issue refunds to each contract buyer, providing copies of refund checks and correspondence to each contract buyer to the Department within 90 days, unless the Department modifies, vacates, or extends the terms of the Order.A spokesperson from LARA has released this statement regarding their investigation: 1228

Cerah is an Indonesian word that means “bright.”Zoo staff say mom and baby are both doing well.Cerah is not yet available for public viewing; she’s spending time with mom behind the scenes to bond and rest. DEL MAR (KGTV) - Beachgoers are asked to stay away from a section of shoreline near 8th Street in Del Mar because of a sewage spill Sunday.Del Mar city officials said a leak was reported around 11:30 this morning. Sewage was flowing out of a manhole near 8th Street, they said. A blockage in the sewer line caused about 4,200 gallons of sewage to seep out of the manhole and flow onto the beach. The blockage was fixed around 1 p.m., city officials said. People are asked to stay out of the water between 7th Street and 9th Street for the next 72 hours because of impacts to water quality. City officials will continue to test the water. 670
