SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Nearly 5,000 San Diegans are set to gather throughout the county for a morning of prayer Saturday.The event, called "We Pray San Diego" will bring 4,900 people together as well as 132 pastors and several county leaders. The event takes place from 9 a.m. through 10 a.m."Eight of the 18 local mayors of San Diego, two County Supervisors and over 132 local pastors will be standing together on the streets of our city’s borders, praying and being present in a moment to cry out to God for the changes needed to move America’s Finest City from crisis to thriving in unity, growth and healing," event organizers said.County Suervisors include Jim Desmond and Diane Jacob, as well as Mayors Mark Arapostathis of La Mesa, Coronado Mayor Richard Bailey, Carlsbad's Matt Hall, San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones, Escondido Mayor Paul McNamara, Racquel Vasquez of Lemon Grove, Steve Vaus of Poway, and El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells.“We are all so fortunate to live in a county like San Diego. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are looking for the thief who committed a brazen robbery at a South Park metaphysical shop, stealing a ,000 crystal ball in broad daylight in front of store staff and other customers.The theft occurred Monday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. at Crystal Blue Vibrations, San Diego Police said. "This was a lot worse than we thought," co-owner Andrew Lucas told 10News. "That's when we went to the video tape and it showed everything."The thief could be seen casually walking through the store, chatting with an employee behind the counter. He then walked over to the front display, which included several large crystal spheres. He reached in to grab an expensive one, but knocked over a shelf, leaving shattered glass all over and drawing the attention of the employee. However, it appears the employee did not realize the man was attempting to steal the item. While the employee was focused on cleaning up the mess, the the thief can be seen grabbing the crystal ball, placing it on the ground, dribbling it like a soccer ball to the front door, then bending over to pick it up and walk out. "I thought I'd seen it all," Lucas said. "Yeah, it's pretty brazen. It's heartbreaking."Lucas says he plans to limit how much access customers have to certain items in the future. "And more security, but I guess that's what the world is coming to."A police report has been filed. Lucas hopes someone may recognize the thief from the surveillance video and will come forward to identify him. 1513

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – More Navy SEALs and DNA experts took the witness stand Friday, one day after bombshell testimony was delivered in the war crimes trial of Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher.Two snipers said Gallagher, a decorated serviceman, shot a young girl and a man in Iraq in 2017.The fellow SEALS said they did not see Gallagher pull the trigger, but they heard shots come from his perch as the victims were struck, the Associated Press reported.Neither witness saw Gallagher fire the shots, defense attorneys argued. 525

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Neighbors woke up to find disturbing graffiti in their Hillcrest neighborhood.For Lauren Matley, it was hard to hold back tears, as she scraped away the red paint on her car window. This was just one of many vehicles that were painted on along 6th Avenue in Hillcrest. Someone also painted on the side of houses and on a garage.Doctor Barry Kaplan was walking his dog when he noticed the graffiti and he called police. "Several of my grandparents died in the Holocaust. So, for me to see this, this reminds me of Nazi Germany. It’s very offensive," Kaplan said.Though Matley doesn’t know if this was a random act or meant to be antisemitic, she says it hits too close to home being a member of the Jewish community."You wake up and this is what you look forward to? The black community would look forward to? The Jewish community would look forward to? The Muslim community looks forward to?" Matley said.Police say after the reports are written this case will be handed to an investigator. She uses an app to call a smart shuttle, which takes her to a transit center she hops on a subway, and is whisked away.Or, she can drive on a toll lane and get across the county in 20 to 25 minutes."Think about the impossible, take risks. Keep going," said Hasan Ikhrata, the San Diego Association of Government's executive director. Ikhrata and his team unveiled its transit vision for the region Friday, with a target completion of 2050.The goal is to take the reliance off the car or make it more efficient for drivers with lanes that can change purposes based on traffic patterns. Still, it will come at a cost: 7 billion."It's expensive but I think it's worth the investment," Ikhrata said. "I think it's more expensive not to do it than to do it."Ikhrata says the plan will have to go to a public vote, and that it could involve a tax increase. But, he said federal and state governments would match every dollar spent locally with nearly two and a half of their own.Friday's presentation to the SANDAG board of directors was entirely informational, so there was no vote.The agency's staff will return in December with more details on projects and schedules. 1277
